I'm so excited that I posted flyers around my building claiming responsibility for any loud pre-1950 music and asking that any complaints be slipped under my door. I think we're pretty sound-proof that way.
@Mithrandir24601 It is (was) tall. So we cut only thin slices and had more than enough for all of us, including grandparents and an uncle. And the ganache was pretty rich, too.
I love my headphones. I have halfway decent wired ones and truly tolerable Bluetooth ones. But I would love to feel my walls vibrate with Beethoven. And I think I can do that without annoying anyone.
I have about half an hour until feeding time again. My nights are being pretty rough lately - ok, only two nights so far, but I am not handling it as well as I used to.

He’s incredibly tiny. Look at the knit in the photo: that’s not a sweater, it’s a sock!
I use a small paintbrush to feed him, because he’ll suckle on the bristles. A syringe is more hit-and-miss, only if he’s very hungry he’ll consider licking the milk from it. But the paintbrush is a lot of dipping and sipping to get him full.
What fun! When I raised a very, very tiny squirrel decades ago I had great success with an 18 gauge IV catheter. I had my pick of stuff 'cause I worked for a vet, but that was what I stuck with. 3ml syringe with "milk", with the catheter on the tip. FWIW.
@rumtscho It should be doable. He’s not too keen on humans anyway, but I am apparently ok - I have milk. You should have seen him crawling backwards and “screaming” when minor 1 just tried to have him climb from my hand to his.
My dad found him, two days ago alone on the lawn. And we couldn’t get him back, because he was probably lost when his mom moved from one hiding spot to another.
@mfox hi! He (she?) is probably older than a week and younger that four - they have an age bracket where determining age is very difficult. But as he’s no longer naked or sparsely furry yet can’t fly yet, this gives a certain bracket. Teeth are like scratchy points

My squirrel was 25 years ago. He lived to run off and hopefully make many squirrel babies. I have thought of him (very much a him) hundreds upon hundreds of times.
Our Harry (“the boy who lived”) didn’t get the chance - we didn’t want him to get aggressive and have lambs with his sisters, so we had him neutered. But there’s a huge difference between a squirrel and a ram.
Funny story: My dad initially declared him a “she”, so he was “Sophie” for a few hours, until the initial chaos of feeding a hungry and very assertive lamb plus treating the sick ewe subsided and I had time to look closely. You can imagine the reaction of the other sheep owners (a bunch of “old boys) :D
@Stephie to be fair, I also can frequently tell a cat's sex by looking at the face and neck. Especially if the cat is adult and not neutered. I don't claim a 100% hit quote, but I am much better than random - they do have different faces.

We had lots of lambs - and admittedly some names were a bit tongue-in-cheek. Like when hubby suggested minor 2 name the male twin lambs of her Holly (born out of season on Christmas) “Gulasch” and “Schnitzelchen”. She was small enough to like the names and did so before I could intervene. Took her a few weeks or months until it dawned on her.
Then there was Elvis - because his baaa had that special timbre that made the real Elvis so famous. He didn’t wriggle his hips, though.
And the triplets were the last we had to bottle-feed before dad gave up his part of the herd. All of them loved to be picked up by my mom. Arthur often even fell asleep in her arms. I told her that this probably wasn’t the best habit to encourage - all of them still tried to climb into her arms when they were fully grown.
So... I started watching Hamilton earlier... Wow, it's sensational. Best musical since Les Mis
The energy, the intensity, the emotion, the variety, the humour, the singing... I just can't fault it, there's nothing I could think of that would improve it
@Jolenealaska The film is better than nothing, but it's nothing compared to the stage show, which I've seen live twice (and been involved with in school once)
@Jolenealaska So, the music is amazing. But just watching it as well... It's on another level. Goes from 'this musical is amazing' to 'this musical is comparable to Les Mis', which is something I didn't think was possible
Like, I have a short list (<10) of things that I view as sheer perfection and Hamilton is definitely one of them
I was bummed they didn't go sung-through, and I was very disappointed in the Thénardiers. Master of the House was a severe disappointment. But Anne Hathaway knocked it out of the solar system IMO.
Thing about Les Mis is that I haven't seen or heard a perfect recording of it - if you get Valjean and Javert right, the Thenardiers just aren't quite on point and vice versa

This is the best recording I know of, of Send in the Clowns, but is her singing ability incredible? Not at all
Quite sad, and the teeny-boppers there to see him. Poor guy couldn't catch a break. I did give him some credit for Empty Chairs. If he weren't so outclassed, that might have felt pretty strong.
