@Mithrandir : I've been getting busier and busier in the last 6+ years. (Third kid in just a few weeks, iy"h!)

I love Writers.SE, but I also consider it an experiment (a Beta site, in my eyes, is always an experiment), which still hasn't reached critical mass. And I wasn't able to devote the time and the effort towards the things I think are capable of pushing it forwards; I was fine on the routine stuff (partly because participation was pretty low...), but it's been a long time since I was able to take initiative and make something bigger happen.

And gradually, my participation has waned. Moderating a site you're active in is fantastic; moderating a site where you aren't active can get frustrating.

That seems reasonable.

I recently learnt about a language called Yiddish.

But I am not sure who speaks it now.

Not many people - it's a dying language.

I think it is written in the Hebrew alphabet as well.

My grandmother does, though.

Aha. Assimil has a course on Yiddish for English speakers.

I got the Assimil course for a few languages. It is supposed to be the best for learning on your own.
