as it turns out excel is not into solving quadratic equations when one the coefficients are in the 1e110s
goal seek works, but it's manual
you'd think, given position, speed, acceleration and the finish point, finding the time to get there would be trivial
yeah, it's -b + sqrt(b² - 4ac), and b² >> 4ac, so the computer just does -b + sqrt(b²), and duh, that's zero.

but
if I have f = p + vt + at²
I can first approximate t = (f - p) / v
then have t' = (f - p) / (v + a^(t/2))
then have t'' = (f - p) / (v + a^(t'/2))
then have t''' = (f - p) / (v + a^(t''/2))
and it's hella ghetto but it converges somehow
I don't know if it converges to the right solution
but I mean
