@gnat Stack Exchange offered the position to the runner up, just like in the Programmers SE scenario, but that person -- due to scheduling conflicts -- declined the offer.

So there are some great questions in the list in meta, but I'm thinking that, even though it's been only a few months, we've faced some different challenges since graduation and the first elections.
Thus, I encourage folks to think of questions to ask moderator candidates that specifically deal with the issues unique to our site.
Here is the collection, for anyone who would like to add something:

Q: Summer 2014 Moderator Election Q&A - Question Collection

Grace NoteOnce again, in connection with the summer moderator elections, we will be holding a Q&A with the candidates. To repeat the rules from last time around, this will be an opportunity for members of the community to pose questions to the candidates on the topic of moderation. Participation is comple...

Just remember, one question per answer.

I am surprised people with no reviews, flags, and minimal meta posts are choosing to run for moderator

That's really a neat summary page

yeah, I love the "reticulating splines" while its loading
in fact, I'm tempted to nominate myself just to see the data on that page

Well at this rate there are going to be more candidates for this election than the initial election!

scared of the competition, @enderland ?

That was more an observation than anything else... hah

> Anyone, given enough time can amass a good SO resume. However, that list of numbers doesn't mean that they are moderator material.
how do you respond to that, candidate @enderland?

do you want a serious or sarcastic response @MattGiltaji?

whatever will bring in ratings for the film at 11, @enderland

Hahah
The "I could if I wanted I just choose not to" excuse is pretty lame on the whole, potential means nothing if it's not realized or in the process of being realized

well yeah
this isn't like some other sites where the privileges are mod == everything, user == flag and nothing else
if users are not taking advantage of the tools already provided to them, why should we provide them with more tools?

I can't tell if the people who have done nearly nothing in terms of community moderation are actually serious about this or not, honestly

6:33 PM
Anyone, given enough time, can be a good moderator. However, just because they're willing and able to devote their time and resources to helping others doesn't mean... wait, yes it pretty much does.

A: Summer 2014 Moderator Election Q&A - Question Collection

enderlandWould you be willing to unilaterally close more popular questions such as this one which very clearly are off-topic, according to the site FAQ and guidelines? Oftentimes these questions can cause problems if not closed quickly as they pick up answers which make editing the question impossible.
