@MikeVan Can you link to the question, if it is merely closed?
It would help, for context.

@jmort253 sounds like it is deleted, he probably can't see it anymore

Q: My rights as an employee

Mark FraserI recently give my notice and left gor a new job but quickly realised I had made a mistake an ask my ex employer for my old job back which they agreed to. I returned to their employment just 4 days after leaving can anyone tell me if iv lost my service as I have got continues pay dockets from thi...

This question from a new user is clearly off-topic (it's a legal/policy question). Two people answered it anyway while it was open, one saying "ask them" and the other saying "check local law". One of those people also voted to close. At present the question will be auto-deleted in a couple weeks, but it's fragile -- any more upvotes on the 0-score answer will preserve the question. While the question is present, votes confer reputation.
As a moderator, what action (if any) do you take on this question?

Nothing right now, it's only 14 hours old, with no response from the OP so far

How long do you wait before you do something, if anything at all?

I guess I'd periodically likely review the questions on teh site which are heavily downvoted and determine which should be deleted
might even be worthwhile at some point to post an aggregate list of them on meta sometime, I guess I've cast a lot of delete votes myself already

@MonicaCellio Closing it was the right call and I like the comment you left, though I try to leave a link to the help center so that the OP can learn more of the rules if they follow it

@MattGiltaji good point about putting the link in my comment. I knew there'd be links in the close notice, but a new user might not automatically make that connection. Explicit is better.

while we could fix the grammar of the question, I'm not sure how we could turn it into something that would be useful to future visitors. The policy for what happens when a worker is rehired is always going to be too localized
"what could happen" is opinion based
"what do most companies do" is polling
"why does my company do this" is too speculative
if we had a blog post with "things to consider before you change jobs", we could link that, but its too late to make a difference with the OP
@jmort253 close and comment as soon as I see it
