Okay, I think I'm catching up with all these PRs...
Only bad thing is that there's a lot of them that I can't really merge, because of breaking changes...
And every time I update the main branch, those PRs gets resynced and built again...

Good morning everyone! Have a nice Friday! Weekend soon!

[Zomis/Games] renovate-bot pushed commit fdedd385 to renovate/vue-monorepo: Update vue monorepo

[Zomis/Games/PR-220] build 3 Build success.

@Marc-Andre Likewise!
Well, a long weekend for me already :)

2:35 PM
You were taking a day off today?

2:48 PM
@Marc-Andre yup
Instead of Wednesday
just to get a longer weekend

Waht did you do so far today?

I was supposed to fill in some bank papers together with the treasurer of the association I'm in, but he forgot his wallet and id-card at home so we just had lunch. Also been doing laundry, trying to work with some of the GitHub issues for Zomis/Games
but this bloody issue is a tough nut to crack

3:05 PM
o_O I think I just had a breakthrough!
After adding my 10th dependency or so

oh nice :)
Good thing
We're having more light during the day anbd it's starting to show

I do get an error about java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: 'IdeaWin64.dll' not found in 'C:\Users\Simon\AppData\Local\Temp\bin' among null but it still works
@Marc-Andre Same here
Now I'm just waiting for some more heat, and less cold wind xD

Now I'm just wondering if I can somehow prevent the script System.exit(0) from terminating everything xD

I'm happy it's finally weekend!!

3:29 PM
@SimonForsberg unless you somehow rebind exit to something else that doesn't sound plausible

@Vogel612 I'm not so sure, I think there might be ways to solve it. Otherwise, they should really come up with a way...
I was hoping it would restrict access to everything except things I give the script access to

the whole point of System.exit is to nuke the VM

I know
But that doesn't mean that all code should be allowed to access it
Particularly not script code that is dynamically compiled at runtime
There is a Security manager system that can be used. Not sure how applicable it is in this case though

> For example, System.exit, which terminates the Java virtual machine with an exit status, invokes SecurityManager.checkExit to ensure that the current thread has permission to shut down the application.

I know, I just haven't used it with Kotlin before

in The 2nd Monitor, 9 mins ago, by Mast
@Duga Is Simon around somewhere? That's the second time I see a double report, the other one was yesterday.
@SimonForsberg

And preferably, I'd like to avoid using it if there are other options. I recall that it was quite a bit of a mess... (from Cardshifter experience)
@Mast Sorry, but I'm not spending time to troubleshoot such things. I have started working on migrating @Duga though to be easier to make changes to, then anyone could troubleshoot it

@SimonForsberg Understandable. I'm assuming this means it wasn't caued by a recent code change?
From your side, that is.
Who knows what SE has been up to.

@Mast Definitely not. Haven't changed that code for ages

Ok, thanks :-)

@Mast Messages in Duga's Neighborhood might contain some debug information about what she's doing

3:41 PM
hey.btw

Seems to be reported double there too. Odd.

Something might be causing her to grab the edit twice

Perhaps a grace period edit.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yea, not that big a deal.
Yet.

2 hours later…
5:58 PM
[Zomis/Games] Zomis deleted branch develop

@Greger Are you ok? :P

6:16 PM
@Marc-Andre He's doing fine. Why?

@SimonForsberg Not Greger you :P You deleted devleop why?

6:51 PM
@Marc-Andre Because it was completely out of date

@SimonForsberg Yeah I did the same thing back a couple months ago.

I made a mistake a long while ago to make some changes to it, then I switched and worked on master instead, then I made refactorings on master, then I considered trying to merge develop into master and realized that.... no, this is not gonna happen

When you're mostly yourself develop is not super useful
It create more problem than it solves
A main branch (not master booooo master) and feature branch is easier I find

@Marc-Andre I'm forcing myself to make explicit branches.

7:56 PM
Anyone here previously set up SSH for github?

never using https to clone

With a second account for work stuff I don't want to have to go into windows credential manager and clear it each time I need to push.
From what I understand using SSH and adding their keys to GH allows me to use the key instead of re-entering username/pass each time.

yup

Something is wrong then.
Trying to clone a private repo with SSH after adding a key I'm getting an error.

repo url is an ssh url?
oh and .... did you update your .ssh/config to use your github identity for github?

8:05 PM
SSH key was created.
Private key was added with `ssh-add` via the shell.
Public key added to GH.
Attempting to clone. FML #Words
typo

check your home's .ssh directory
there should be a config file (and the ssh identity file) there

I created the config file and added the ssh IdentityFile.

hmm ... got a Host entry to go with it?

Connection refused.

check whether you can connect outgoing to port 22

8:08 PM
That's into networking and I'm not sure how.

uhh.... nmap is not a usual windows thing ...
ask your IT folks whether they block outgoing connections to port 22, I guess?

8:31 PM
@Marc-Andre Yeah that's very true. I think I'll stop having a develop branch, especially in this project.

@IvenBach What steps did you go through and what is the error message that you are getting?
@Greger Bloody AWS releasing updates bloody often

[Zomis/Games/PR-199] build 6 Build success.

[Zomis/Games] build for commit 88a1658f on renovate/aws-java-sdk-monorepo: This commit looks good

When I test the connection with ssh -T git@github.com I get the error.:
$ ssh -T git@github.com
ssh: connect to host github.com port 22: Connection refused
Same error when I trying git clone git@github.com:IvenBach/RepoIWantToClone.git
I also created a config file as described in code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/…

9:24 PM
Testing a bit more and adding Port 443 to the config file I get the message:
$ ssh -T git@github.com
kex_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
Connection closed by 192.30.255.113 port 443

9:34 PM
443 is https
github doesn't allow ssh access on 443

28
A: ssh: connect to host github.com port 22: Connection refused

Yudhi Karunia SurtanHave you tried using port 443, and adding ssh. subdomain prefix? This command will test it. You should get an error since a shell is not supported. ssh -T -p 443 git@ssh.github.com Then you can use a full URL to specify the project path, see Stack Overflow answer for details: ssh://git@ssh....

That gets a successful authentication on port 443.
I'm ignorant as to ports for web traffic.

10:00 PM
@IvenBach Port 22 outbound was blocked. We were following the steps correctly.

[Zomis/Games/PR-203] build 10 Build failed.

[Zomis/Games] build for commit bedcae61 on renovate/major-dependencies--major: This commit cannot be built
BUILD FAILURE!

11:29 PM
@IvenBach Ah, yeah that would explain it
Why would anyone block port 22 outbound?

@SimonForsberg avoid data exfiltration
also why would anyone need 22 outbound for "normal user traffic"

11:53 PM
Cost me a good bit of time testing and WTFing. "Did I follow the steps correctly?"
