@SimonForsberg re oil processing: I found that it's reasonably easy to understand a very simple oil process from aromatics + tailings with olefins to gasoline. It's basically always "Make sulfur with salt in a desulfurisation unit".
you probably want to set up some basic concrete production before that, though.
