@Vogel612 Is this what you do during the days?

11:48 AM
among other things :D

2 hours later…
1:35 PM
hey everyone! Have a nice day!

3 hours later…
5:01 PM
Has @Simon posted his weekly update?

5:16 PM
@Vogel612 Do you have a paper+pen TODO-list?

ye
I get to do that on paper and pen, because my list is that much shorter :)

5:44 PM
@Duga @Greger Week 1803: Running, nope. Work to do with the association the next months, quite a bit. Surprises, of various kinds. Pull requests handled, not as many as I would have liked. Factorio played, enough for 4 episodes or so.

6:01 PM
@Vogel612 I forgot to mention: Your video was cut at the bottom again

argh...
I see I need to check that every damn time now

hey

@skiwi I'm surprised every time you are able to find this tab

@SimonForsberg it's all just this tab over and over and over ;)

Or maybe you open a new tab every time. That would explain a thing tab or two three hundred

6:46 PM
@SimonForsberg I just looked into fish farming... that's only available after at least three more researches (advanced electronics, advanced water treatment, fish refugium) all of them are just red and green tho
the mod which has blasting charges is called "Explosive Excavation" by the way

@Vogel612 Yes, I am aware. But it's just researches. No actual things from them needed.

right :)
I just am not gonna get to those researches quickly.

@Vogel612 Hmm... is that included as a requirement of the Seablock modpack? Or how did you/we get that mod?

'cause lead sheet coils, solder coils and other things are more pressing
@SimonForsberg I figure it's in the seablock modpack, yes

@Vogel612 Hate to break it to you, but nothing is done "quickly" in Seablock :)

6:49 PM
lol

If you have enough slurry for it, you might want to add an extra column of crystallizers. Maybe especially of the things you are lacking

interestingly alien farming (which is required for duplicating the gardens) doesn't need plant research
but for every cycle of gardens you do, you only get 2 of these alien plant life samples
~yikes
@SimonForsberg the limiting factor is the sludge, currently

@Vogel612 Well... it does require mushredtato, doesn't it? Unless you use the fish side-products to get alien spores, but that requires a bunch of other things which you're probably gonna hate even more.

@SimonForsberg sodium carbonate and hydrochloric acid, which is ... almost trivial
and it has the nice effect of yielding some sulfuric waste water as well :)

@Vogel612 Yup, I know. It's slow as hell at start. Which is why you're gonna want to have a whole bunch of those seed extractors as each process takes 300 seconds or so
@Vogel612 huh, okay

6:52 PM
so the fish sideproduct is pretty powerful actually

for some values of "trivial"?
@Vogel612 you're welcome

and the artificial fishwater is also cheap and easy. It's literally just water and saline water (which is just water)

@Vogel612 yup

the annoying part is getting some nutrient pulp for the fishes
so that's where you need at least some farming research

I also looked into what you needed for Puffing, and I realized that you are a loooong way away from that.

6:55 PM
yea, I basically need all the farming researches done before I can even think about puffing

And blue science as well, in order to do some breeding, IIRC
@Vogel612 Ah, didn't know that you couldn't get nutrient pulp without farming research

there is a reciepe using fish pulp, but that gets you a lot of fish oil.

Not optimal then

to handle the fish oil you need thermal water, which is a pain (and only really viable once you get the advanced reciepe that uses steam)

But farming research is quite handy anyway ^^

6:58 PM
that's for sure

in the old server, I think we went for farming research before military science

I was just looking at which farming research gives me nutrient pulp, and the answer is: all of them
@SimonForsberg nope
we had military research running before proper farming research

Define "proper"

and most of the farming research we got from just sacrificing gardens
@SimonForsberg automated
and a lot of those we only got after you had rockets (which requires military science)

@Vogel612 Yes, for the first farming research we definitely sacrificed gardens. That's the only way to get farming research unless you have garden-growing setup already. I didn't know about the fish version of garden-growing back then
I think we setup some garden growing using mushredtato before we had the rockets

7:01 PM
ohh, that's quite possible

I think we had some semi-automated version of farming science before we had military science
And semi-automated farming research is quite easy to fix. You could probably set it up in half an episode.

The military science was tacked onto the huge smelting bus thingy

The farming science was one way to get rid of paper, IINM

Yeah that's probably possible

7:04 PM
I think I moved the military science at some point and just removed the farming science because we didn't need any when it would've been time to move it :D

We moved the farming science a bit south-east I think... close to some train stations

yea, it was right next to that insane resin and rubber production that was squashed along the bottom of the initial block
just a bit off from the location of the second electrolyzer setup and next to the southwestern edge of the road network for transport drones in the initial block
so much spaghetti

speaking of spaghetti: ~fires up pyblock

@Vogel612 Attaboy!

7:17 PM
@SimonForsberg you did get a chance to look at the overview I posted?

7:28 PM
@SimonForsberg It's pinned!
> 3491 tabs

@Vogel612 Which overview?

the image you requested

Ah, yes
I looked at it briefly but not a lot

just making sure you saw :)

a bit hard to see the recipe icons when roboport coverage is also shown

7:29 PM
yea, I noticed as well

a new image with recipe icons but without roboport coverage could be good

coming right up :D

wtf, you're researching something that I haven't even researched yet...
"TODO? Better titanium" - ha! Good luck with that!

[Zomis/Games/main] build 34 Build success.

I see you also have a bit of a spaghetti-land

7:35 PM
yea, I wanted those for ... milk, I think

[Zomis/Games] build for commit 48e3d54f on main: This commit looks good

yea, but it's a lot smaller than yours :D
recall that my blocks are significantly smaller than yours

oh, you're doing 5x5 ?

yea, 5x5 internal
and I need the tuuphras research for the better genetics research for navens, which gives insane amounts of raw coal (to replace fawogae)

@Vogel612 I'm starting to think that maybe I should just have rebuilt all the old shit somewhere else...
@Vogel612 and you consider coal a problem?

7:39 PM
@SimonForsberg well, that's kind of what you're doing now
@SimonForsberg it's my current ... gripe, yes
but it's not going to be for long

@Vogel612 I mean.... rebuilt from scratch far away, and then remove the old stuff afterwards
like, starting a new city block for glass, red science, circuit boards, green science
@Vogel612 What are you using coal for?

@SimonForsberg mostly fueling trains and my ever-growing ash and coke addiction
so basically for distillationc column-based stuff

@Vogel612 and what are you using ash and coke for?
Also, it sounds like an ineffective way to get ash. And coke too, actually. The coke processing recipes are far superior

ash for coaldust & iron oxide, coke for steel and circuits
yea, that's why it's not gonna be a problem for much longer :D
ash will be used for farming things as soon as I get a steady supply of manure

@Vogel612 Ash for coal dust and iron oxide? Aren't there... a bunch of other ways to get that?
@Vogel612 Farming what things?

7:44 PM
it's basically free energy, tbf

How so?

ash separation is a cheap reciepe, flue gas to ash doesn't need any resources, you get coal dust out of it, which is a nice amount of energy to use

8:03 PM
@Vogel612 that requires 100 ash though, that's a lot

ya, it's really just to make sure everything is used in some way :D

hahaha
yeah sure, 5000 flue gas for 2 coal dust....

what else are you gonna use it for?
phytoplankton?

[Zomis/Games/PR-199] build 8 Build success.

[Zomis/Games] build for commit 65f5a3cb on renovate/aws-java-sdk-monorepo: This commit looks good

I should make syngas from that coal dust...

8:34 PM
@Vogel612 For me the problem isn't so much that I have no usages for it, I would love to use more flue gas for coal dust. Although a lot of it goes to phytoplankton as well. For me the problem is more that I don't have time to work on everything xD

yea, I get why
I now finally started providing urea to the circuit production via LTN

8:47 PM
Nice
My urea production is still not doing too well :(
because I need more manure because I need more auog food

well, that's what's gonna be my next problem, I think :D
after all I'm currently not running all my stuff all the time
I have a cache of manure to make urea from, but...

Q: Android Code - First Kotlin Project

Abhinav TyagiI am learning Kotlin for Android dev. I do not have anyone to review my code and give feedback. Please review the following project and let me know how I can make it better in terms of scalability if I add 3-4 different modules like login, detail pages Kotlin-MVVM-Room-DataBinding I am using Obse...

@Vogel612 I need more auog food because I need more starch, because I should start again and make starch from ralesia seeds, and I need more ralesia seeds because I need more manure. And so the circle is complete.

~mumble ulrics mumble ash mumble fertilizer mumble ;)
I'm out of manure, by the by...
it just evaporated into the urea inside the warehouses of the LTN

@Vogel612 Fertilizer?

incredibly useful for producing methane and ralesias

Knowing enough to work with git makes checking the pre-change state of a file a lot easier.
@Vogel612 TYVM again for your patience in helping me to learn git.

9:59 PM
@Vogel612 Ah, yes. But Fertilizer needs manure, right? :/

correct :/
well, the better reciepes are really nice
and the reciepes that use fertilizer don't use all that much of it

true
I have some production of it, just not much usage yet
maybe I can combine fertilizer into the ralesia->manure loop

@IvenBach you are very welcome :)

@Vogel612 Wait... How are you using Fertilizer for Ralesias?

not at all, yet?
hmm ... interesting... there is a reciepe in FNEI that uses 4 fertilizer for 20 fawogae... Seems like that's also a leftover

10:05 PM
@Vogel612 The ralesias recipes I see with Fertilizer are waaaaaaaaaaay off in the future. Behind more science packs.

hmm ...

I would use Fertilizer for Guar though, that seems like a good one

the log reciepe with fertilizer is also insane

Yup
@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ If it's not too many problems for you and if you are willing to provide the service, may I ask that you add games.zomis.net to your checker?
I had a weird problem with it returning 502 earlier today

10:31 PM
@SimonForsberg okay- any certain path/route? e.g. games.zomis.net/#/login ? or just games.zomis.net ?

welp...
so I finally have a single classifier running on sifting rich dust for titanium ore...
it just needed five classifiers sifting through sand for rich dust...

@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ Just the root path is good enough.
@Vogel612 Sand -> Rich dust is slooooooow... and requires lots of sand. Using the iron sticks and sand extractors are far more effective. Just needs some Niobium which isn't actually that complicated to fix
Night

ye, niobium is on my list
sleep well
it's right after I get a proper sulfuric acid process working
interestingly you can make sulfuric acid from tailings (and get rich dust and coal dust out of it)
it's just not terribly reliable, because evaporating tailings with acid gas as probabilistic sideproduct isn't really a good setup...
