My gaming computer has died :(

@bruglesco Congrats

Thank you

@Duga That's quite a lot of games played, and a lot of bombs.

@Dair ohh sorry to hear

12:04 AM
I guess it's better to have less distractions than more, still... Thanks for the support. Also, congratulations on getting 1st!

Way to look at the silver lining
still sucks

I really just wanted to spend this weekend trying Dota Auto Chess...
But guess that's not gonna happen rip.

@bruglesco Yeah congrats!
@Dair oh that's not cool :(
@SimonForsberg one day at 50 and a lot at 100 and more
That's cool

update the postgres section

Since I use docker, the postgres section is not as useful

oh so you have switched to docker now...

Yep!

good job

Good job Simon ahhah! He did it because you inspired him with your pull requests

LOL

@IvenBach I know you're kidding, but basically I turn on the computer, all the lights show up, but my monitor can't detect the signal. I looked online and tried a couple of quick fixes which didn't work... They say it is likely a malfunction with one of the key components like the GPU :'(

@bruglesco First ever successful fried egg flip while cooking.
Should be an easy fix replacing the video card. Hopefully.

3:19 AM
The card could of even become dismounted
@IvenBach nice! over easy or hard?
As in with the pan? or just turning it with a spatula?

The yolks were jiggly and liquidy when I did it.

@IvenBach but in the end?

Just the pan. No spatulas were dirtied in the flipping of the eggs.

+1

After flipping the eggs they ended up being 90ish% cooked.

3:21 AM
So was over medium your goal?

Mostly hard fried eggs.
My goal was to flip the eggs and not muck it up.

Well then. sounds like you handled the eggs perfectly
Of course with over hard it doesn't matter if they break.

Many times I tried to flip without a spatula ended up with an omelette folded in half.
Excluding stews, I can cook edible food.

I like to think I can too</sarcasm>

o.o aren't you a cook in a restaurant...

3:26 AM
better?

Better...
;)

@IvenBach I was a chef
Now I'm a cook at a college dining hall

In a year or two maybe programmer at a prestigious game company?

programmer at a prestigious game company? at a company
My goals arent that lofty
Although I would love to work at a prestigious game company
Im not saying I wouldn't

6 hours later…
9:48 AM
@SimonForsberg Well yeah, I'm not sure if I should put it up in public
Maybe I should add a few people from here though I think it's limited too
Also I just realised that I probably don't need the backend server in the beginning, I can make a JSON file with all cards and their prices

10:09 AM
@Marc-Andre Yeah it varies a lot up and down, probably depending on if there are any tournaments going on, and how many games I play myself
@skiwi You can have up to five. And one of them has to be @Duga so that she can report details of your commits :P
@skiwi Yeah that's true. That does make it easier.

10:25 AM
@IvenBach Not even before the flipping?

@SimonForsberg Mmm, so I'm almost done already?
Is there a way in Vuetify to add a style or something?

@skiwi Yes, definitely.
@skiwi vuetifyjs.com/en/framework/theme For a concrete example, go to play.minesweeperflags.net/develop/# and click the settings in the top-right and activate "Dark theme"
If you want to add a specific CSS class, you can add that normally to your elements by using class="skiwi-thingy" and then add <style scoped>.skiwi-thingy { ... }</style> to the bottom of your component
(Using the scoped thing is optional, but mostly I can recommend it. It limits usage of t he style to that particular component, and also gives it a higher priority than it would have otherwise)

Mmm okay I'll try that out later

1 hour later…

@Marc-Andre Board games today. Will be nice. Have a nice day you too.

12:11 PM
@SimonForsberg Do tell after you're done what games you played and if you like those

Will do

12:34 PM
@SimonForsberg technically “no” I claim a little cheating liberty though.
TFW you wake up from a dead sleep because of a programming idea. #WhyBrain? #IWantMySleep

Your next goal is to crack the eggs one-handed

@bruglesco That's easy. But doing it without making a mess is harder.
Crack eggs one-handed: Throw it at a wall. Done.

hahaha
I like your style. You would make a good chef

12:57 PM
Throw it a wall kept at high temperatures to have an instant fried egg :)

1:12 PM
hey²

hey hey

@SimonForsberg I added you two to my repo, though apparently there's a max of 3
-typos

@skiwi Who two?

@SimonForsberg You and Duga ;)
Where do I start if I want to add multiple pages to my app?

@skiwi Vue-router. If you selected that option when creating your app, you should have a router.js file

1:21 PM
Mm, I didn't, though I think I can still add it

Adding yourself huh :P

Blame GitHub :)
Thanks

[skiwi2/pokemon-buylist] skiwi2 pushed commit 359c6339 to master: Added non-working Vue router.

@skiwi It seems like in your current project you don't have a router.js, I would recommend adding that option when creating the project. You could add it now though with npm install --save vue-router I think, and then add a few things. But it's easiest to select that option when creating project

@SimonForsberg First I need to get the Router component to work.. Then I want to get rid of const Home = { template: '<div>home</div>' }

@skiwi Ugh

@SimonForsberg Exactly

@skiwi I just cloned and setup your project locally, what's the problem?

1:41 PM
@SimonForsberg My routed components are not appearing
And I don't have a router.js file, and I want to get rid of the const Home = ...
And I should probably reuse the router paths for the navigationItems.. but that's another story

@skiwi Your router declaration exists in main.js apparently
This is really strange, what is that component doing down there?

@SimonForsberg You changed some text though?
It's down there because I first wanted to see it work before I wanted to make it pretty
(read: halfway-decent)

@skiwi I did yes

You changed something else? Because for me it doesn't display the router content

@skiwi Getting rid of const Home = ... is easy. You do import Home from "./src/views/Home.vue and then you create Home.vue with the content <template><div>This is home</div></template>

1:50 PM

@skiwi I would just scrap what you have and start a new project, add the vue-router option from the start, add Vuetify, and start from that template.

Maybe that red warning is not good

@skiwi Why are you just using the runtime-only thingy? Have you done npm install && npm run serve ?

@SimonForsberg Yes
But to clarify, the router does work out of the box on my project on your end?
If so then I need to do the setup again anyway, after some lunch :)

@skiwi I just removed your "TEST" text in App.vue and changed into this:
<v-content>
  <router-view />
</v-content>
And oh, I removed mode: 'history' in main.js
It doesn't seem to work very well with your const thingies though, but it works with import Home from "./views/Home.vue";

@skiwi Are you using Vuetify?

@Dair Yes

5:17 PM
This is... not what I intended

@skiwi Welcome to front-end

WHYYYY

honestly, just looking at that picture makes me tired because my mind is like: Probably need to fill parent, but parent isn't big enough, so you need to make the parent have a fixed size and then grow the parent in a particular way, probably using either the CSS grid system or flexbox or something... But you're using Vuetify so it has it's opinion on it and now you're gonna have to fight it.
@skiwi so close.

What did I do to deserve this..

I'm impressed by how good your frontend skills are. Like, the page (even with it's small problems) looks really good.

That's the power of Vue

8:06 PM
nah. I've used Vue a bit, and I don't believe that. You're just really good.

I don't believe that :D

can you make youtube vids of yourself designing frontends? I like falling asleep to those lmao.

bruh, you're not a back-end programmer. You're F U L L S T A C K baby.

@skiwi Have you pushed that code? You still need my help?

@SimonForsberg Yes, it's pushed

@skiwi I will take a look in a minute, just need to publish a bugfix for a Factorio mod

@skiwi IIRC that has a lot of answers. And depends on the HTML you've used. If you've used flex-boxes align-content: space-between; may help. If it's because the boxes height is higher than the elements inside then position: absolute; bottom: 0; may help.
You may also be missing a height: 100% on the picture sibling element that contains the additional info.

Okay, @Duga's Splunk alert fixed, Factorio fixed, now let's see what to do about @skiwi's Vue code
@skiwi I love that reaction. What caused it? Was it easier than expected?

Haha, "WTF I love Vue" -> "WHYYY" & "Tip: Don't do front-end if you want to code"

@SimonForsberg Yes!

Ok, hold on

Somewhat more to the bottom would be nice, but I'd be very happy with this

@skiwi You have to figure something out for yourself :P
(In other words, wasn't sure how to fix that)
Oh, but your latest commit changed things a bit

The rarity should probably be color coded...

Never underestimate &nbsp;
(I remember I misused &nbsp; soooooooooo much when I learned HTML)

@SimonForsberg Is that a legitimate technique?

10:02 PM
@Dair In my world, yes. You're telling the browser "Don't make a new line here"

@SimonForsberg You're a magician, Simon!

@skiwi Full-stack magician!

Are you trying to make the price small for psychological reasons? i.e. if people don't see the price they'll be more eager to buy?

[skiwi2/pokemon-buylist] skiwi2 pushed commit 0cd95670 to master: Modified the Card component to make it look way better. Thanks Simon!

Even though @Dair didn't call me full-stack, I hope he agrees with it.

10:03 PM
@Dair They're supposed to sell them to me for that price
I like how fast searching is

Oh, I was just thinking, maybe put the price big and green on a separate row above the add lol

@skiwi That's because it's not searching (I guess), it's filtering - two very different things.

@SimonForsberg You're correct
What I wonder though... is v-layout together with v-flex the most important component to use for lay-outing?

@SimonForsberg Dunno if this is correct vue, but <v-layout row align-center justify-space-between fill-height> -> <v-layout row align-content-end justify-space-between> might help

I just got hands on a free-to-use dataset that contains even more images :)
Only I need to construct some JSON myself, but that's doable

-            <v-flex>
@skiwi Try this ^^
@skiwi v-layout is super-important yes. Sometimes you don't need the v-flex, but it can be useful - although you can often replace it by just adding the flex class to the element instead of using v-flex

@SimonForsberg It's based on flex-box I read? I'm still new to that concept, last time I did CSS it wasn't around yet

[skiwi2/pokemon-buylist] skiwi2 pushed commit 0719b25b to master: Made the Card component look even better.

TTGTB now

10:18 PM
@Peilonrayz There were a whole bunch of paddings there, so align-end doesn't help that much, also the two elements become bottom-aligned instead of center-aligned.

What is the - sign mean in $ 10, -

@skiwi Yes, it is. One of the examples here is really good to play around with: vuetifyjs.com/en/framework/grid#examples

@SimonForsberg Ah, I thought that was empty v-layout space.

I know it is a pound or euro, or something but too lazy to find the character (American keyboard)

@Dair Just one of all the many ways to write an amount of money. I could write 20:- for example.

10:20 PM
Interesting, is that common in Europe? because I usually just see $ 10 for example.
no + or -

@Peilonrayz I wish. It's all contained in some kind of gridlist that adds a whole lot of padding. I also had to add style="margin-top: 0px because it was set to auto for some reason

@Dair I'm assuming $10.00

@Peilonrayz Yes.
gtg

@Peilonrayz Apparently yes.
10:50 = 10:50
10:00 = 10:-
^^ example from a non-trusted source on the internet

So if you would write 10.50 :- that would be just wrong.
@Dair It's probably common, yes.
Oh by the way @skiwi, I met someone at the meetup who is from your area of The Netherlands.

@SimonForsberg Reminds me of the minesweeper game, there was tons of padding in that. Seemed like one of the core vue things has a padding: 1em on it or something.

Also the Base set has three well-known variations, n red to support that
@SimonForsberg :o Cool

@Peilonrayz There was? Where?
I don't know where the padding comes from

Do you remember from where he or she was?

@SimonForsberg From the outside of screen down to where where the map and menu are. Not sure how to describe it.
@SimonForsberg Looks like most of it has gone now. It made your page look nice, so I didn't touch it.

10:30 PM
@skiwi I just remember that she said that Eindhoven is a big city in the area, and you are from Eindhoven, right?
@Peilonrayz So my page looks worse now because it's no longer there? :)

@SimonForsberg Haha, no :)

Ok, good :)
I will be updating merge the develop branch of my client into master tomorrow
@Peilonrayz And oh, it's Vuetify that adds it, not Vue itself. Vue doesn't come with any CSS included in it.

@SimonForsberg I'm not from Eindhoven but relatively close
You can pm me a name if you want :P

10:48 PM
@skiwi She said which city she was from I think, but I don't remember it
This is starting to get tricky...
Damn it
Yay!

[Zomis/minesweeper-ai-mario]‌ Zomis pushed commit aa4edfbd to master: Private code, don't publish it. Use publishToMavenLocal instead
[Zomis/minesweeper-ai-mario] build for commit aa4edfbd on master: This commit looks good

Oh right also need to think about cards in other languages, might need native support for it rather than marking down anything non English by 50%
