@Jolenealaska I've done a bit of yogurt making myself. Though I'm relying on some starter yogurt rather than any particular population. I always find extra insulating and leaving it a bit longer than directions works better
@BESW last night i made some Haldi Ka Doodh and it made me start wondering if a hot chocolate type drink should be my experimentation with it

I would totally put turmeric in spicy hot chocolate, so... yes?

Hey, opinion
I was going to grab a costco chicken and try making belgian waffles for the first time

My spicy hot chocolate is basically baker's chocolate dissolved in almond milk with cinnamon, chili powder, and cayenne pepper, then I add Ovaltine until it's sweet enough to tolerate.

for dinner tonight
ooh, interesting
this isnt really spicy perse but uses a decent bit of black pepper for a tiny kick
(also vastly increases circumins efficacy)
any opinions though on the chicken and waffles
should i have anything else
(got maple syrup)
and butter
also any opinion on changes to the waffles i should make, cut back on sugar or etc?

I don't know much about Belgian waffles, but I put molasses and honey on mine instead of syrup.
(Also, I use wheat germ and rolled oats in the batter.)

12:55 AM
I'm not going for fried chicken though costco chicken is pretty damn tender already
and ive got sweet and savory down between these two parts of the dish it seems

19 hours later…
7:37 PM
@rumtscho Ooooh, which model did you get?

@Stephie the OXO one. Not original, but enough of a "brand name" to trust, and it has this system of rotating two discs to choose the coarseness. Many others had either a single coarseness setting, or exchangeable discs, and the exchangeable discs had pretty low reviews on Amazon.

@rumtscho nest. Tried it yet?

@Stephie no, I didn't. Yesterday I was busy baking a cake, and today the boss invited us team managers to a restaurant.
And before you think "awesome workplace", this is just a coincidence, both happens for the first time since I started the job a year and a half ago

Also nice... lol!
And the darn autocorrect turned "neat" into "nest". Duh.

the cake was for my team, who delivered a nice prototype for a deadline on Sep 30th, and my project manager practically forgot that such a deadline had existed. I wanted to give them some kind of appreciation.
the cake was good. epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/…, because all my cookbooks are still packed in crates.

7:49 PM
So you took the carrot and stick approach?

no, I hope they will continue working without more carrots
but it is good to tell them that somebody is noticing their work, once or twice a year
and I also need some excuses to bake a cake once in a while, or I will forget how it is done :)

Well, if my product owners forget that, I gently remind them in a 1:1.
Ah. Well, there's my birthday next month...
No, that's when I'll be baking for the team, in fact.

lol! Your line came a few seconds too late.
hey, a birthday!

BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!! YAY!

Hi @Catija!
But before the birthday, I'll be flying to Budapest!

7:58 PM
wow!
work or vacation?

Work. But still great!

Ooooh, fuN!

And I will make sure I'll do at least some sightseeing.

sounds nice

Budapest has been on my "cities I'd like to fly to for a weekend" list for quite a while.
Enough about me - @rumtscho, when is our brunch due?

8:06 PM
@Stephie I guess this depends more on your calendar than mine - I don't really have social or family obligations on weekends
and it is not really combinable with a paddling day I guess, so I would just come spend a day in the mountain and see you.
when would you be available, and not celebrating a birthday, or flying to Budapest, or something else?

@rumtscho Lol, you have no idea! We stared booking weekends for 2018 already! But by car, it's roughly 1.5 hours to you, so as we had talked about a brunch, I can probably find a morning - e.g. Wednesdays?

Um, if you are thinking of visiting me, I will want to put some furniture in the living room first

We can always meet in town?

we can do that, if you are OK with the drive just for brunch

Sure. But I'll have to check my work calendar as well.
Let's fix the details via e-mail?

8:18 PM
Did you get a mail I sent you last week while we were chatting here?
if not, I may be landing in your spam folder.

Yes, but saw it only a few hours later.

That's no problem then, it means you will get a mail about a potential brunch too.

So you are not auto-filtered. I just didn't know what to reply. Still don't, in fact.
Urgh, I'm nodding off, I'm dead tired. See you another time & good night!

good night!

Night!
