@W5VO But it's labeled for CCTV and LED strips devices. How do you think it'll do with multiple 24 VDC fans on it drawing 2 Amps. As well as a Peltier Device that uses 5-6 Amps. Do you think it could handle it?
@rdtsc Can I use a 555 timer in a 12-14 Volt circuit that is used to power 2 5 watt LED chips and 1-2 3 watt LED chips? And can it work with up to 5 amps of current flowing through it? I want to make a flashing lights circuit using the 555 timer. But I'm not sure how much power that kind of component can handle.
@rdtsc The chips are yellow, orange and white. I want to use it for a lab warning signal. For when I or someone else is doing a potentially deadly experiment or is testing something that is potentially deadly. Note that I don't say potentially dangerous, but I say potentially deadly. It's a signal that I want to use to signify a 1 man down range type of situation.
Things such as a live charged ground hazard, or a radiation experiment as well as other potentially deadly scenarios.
@ScientistSmithYT I think you shouldn't be looking for (just) a 48V supply if you're using 24V fans. What are you expecting the page to say? "Good for weird Peltier experiments"?
If you want something pretty, you can get a lab supply, but you'll easily be paying 5-10x for the knobs, front panel, and bulletproofing
@W5VO True, I must have way over looked the voltage. I've just been super tired, but thanks for pointing that out. I would have totally missed that. And thanks for the comedy :) I needed a laugh. It's been a long, tiring and frustrating month. Sadly I do have a budget for this one.
@Shalvenay Thank you. What kind of FET should I look for? I know the pin names on FET's but I'm not entirely fimiliar with the ratings that are associated with FET's. What I mean is like for example capacitors have a capacity rating. And they also have a max voltage rating. Do FET's have only a max voltage rating or do they also have a max current rating?
