aagh -- assembling a PC, and the power on switch on the chassis has an open circuit value of about 85K, which isn't enough!! Mobo wouldn't post. Accidentally landed on this after some hours, before going through useless phone calls and RMA's for the Mobo!

@ScottSeidman My Mobo's power on circuit has been damaged (maybe by ESD?) at any rate, my PC turns on randomly, sometimes when I switch on a fan elsewhere in the house.

If your ever troubleshooting PC mobo's a screwdriver is pretty handy to turn it on and off in the absence of a switch

@AdamUraynar I actually went to a certified STEM school. I mainly focused and studied science, and engineering. Math came after then tech. That school gave me every thing I really needed to do my research and tests.
