The result increases or decreases your Influence and Reason scores.

I cannot understand the circumstances that lead to someone releasing this game.

Oh, and check out 917: Estrogen treatment.
[waits]

I did this thing
this is so horribly bad I don't know what I just read on account of my brain now evacuating it from my memory

in RPG General Chat, Jul 6 at 6:39, by lisardggY
No, I do not recommend deadEarth. I do recommend reading the review and laughing hysterically.
in deadEarth: The Chargenning, Jul 6 at 13:09, by BESW
I managed to roll a character who was going to die of liver failure in 1d6 years, reverse-age and die as an embryo in 1d6 weeks, and die of spontaneous combustion in 3d6 hours.

yes but did they ever play this thing
i assume they did

1:05 PM
I have never played deadEarth and I never shall.

well, yeah, but the makers
if they played it, what lead to them not saying "we can never let anyone see this" and locking it away

I assume they were drunk frat pledges.

that would make sense.
especially if they were drunk the entire time.

Thing is, as much as this game displays very poor taste, it also displays a great deal of effort.
This is not a casually created thing. It's got a thousand radiation manipulations. And art.

@BESW ah, yes, that was the one I was trying to find again.

1:09 PM
oh right I forgot about that.

And this is the second edition!

@lisardggY I can't process this

> 176 Retard. Radiation no longer affects you. Never roll on this
table again under any circumstances. cost: none. range: self.
effect: permanent.

i notice decapitation does not have effect: permanent.
(i don't want to try to understand what 'effect' means.)

@doppelgreener Not only that, it explicitly doesn't say that it kills you, unlike many other radmans.
There is a radman that not only mandates that you have a 1d6 chance every day of having to try to kill yourself, it even specifies the chances for this attempt to be successful.
Meaning they don't even plan for this to be played, in-game.
I think 833. Fatality is the bluntest, though.
Option #2 in it is "You are dead". And it's only the second-deadliest option.

1:16 PM
I'm going to look it up, expecting that it will kill the rest of the party too.

Well.
> 100 Death. You are dead. Over-exposure to radiation kills you.
cost: none. range: self. effect: binary.
> 324 Falling apart. Lose a body part now, then one every D6
months. Subtract two moves for each body part lost lost. If you
loose a critical area, you are dead. cost: none. range: self.
effect: binary.
> 587 Pool. You will start melting into a pool of goo at 3D6 hit
points per hour until you are dead. Anyone within 10 feet of you
during your melting process will have a 75% chance of rolling on
this table for each minute they are within your radius. cost: none.
range: self. effect: binary.
> 798 The meaning of life. You are dead. Radiations that could
normally save your life or bring you back to life will have no
effect.
cost: none. range: self. effect: permanent.
I skipped a few, like the one where your blood evaporates.
@doppelgreener Wanna roll up a set yourself?

I like this one, with inarguable simulationist justification:
> 801 Symmetry.
For every radiation on your list, add another radiation to your list with the digits reversed (ie. if you have 345,add 543)

Want me to walk you through it?

Yes please.

1:23 PM
Okay! Roll 3d6 2d10 for starters. The first 2d6 is your Move, add 3 to the third d6 for your Resiliency, your Str is 0, and look at the chart on page 14 for the 2d10.

3d6 2d10

10
8

Ooh. You get to choose your age.
Wait, no, wrong bar.

I'm not prepared for this responsibility.

Re-roll and add 50 skill points.

1:26 PM
2d10

So roll 2d10 again, and mark down +50 skill points.
Roll again and subtract 1d6 radmans.

Roll again and choose your height and weight.

1:27 PM
Excellent.
2d10

Now I add d6 radmans!
2d10

43, -3 moves, 800 base skill points, -1 resiliency, 3d6 rads

Don't worry about rolling for skill points.
It's not entertaining enough for the hassle.

1:29 PM
What do I do for age and height? What's the impact?

The combination of height and weight determines bonuses and penalties to moves, res, and str, as described on the nigh-illegible table on page 15.

I see.
Oh. It's not just my browser that makes that impossible to read.
I am going to pick 24 and 175" and see what happens to my alternate-reality self aspiring to simply be alive.
(I think I'm 175"? Close enough.)
Oh wait I'm picking height and weight.

Aye.

What's this junk do, because this table is totally illegible to me.
oh!
now I kinda get it.
+1 +1 -1 moves, resiliency, and strength
things aren't looking good for being able to move things around.

...you're 14 feet 4 inches tall?

1:35 PM
uh
no

175 cm = about 69 inches.

+2 0 -1

Yup.
Now, genderise yourself.

done
this is alternate-reality sorta-me
Alternate-me will probably die
Rads?

And pick: add a d6 to a stat, or gain skill points, or get the ability to spend skill points to buy more radmans.

1:37 PM
uh.
What stats can I add stuff to?
Oh!
[sees]

@doppelgreener Do not attempt to characterize the character before radmans kick in.

I'll pick the last one and change nothing.

Probably best to avoid it afterwards, too.

@lisardggY Only saying this 'cause I picked my height and weight, for lack of any better thing to pick.

Now radmans.

1:39 PM
3d6 - 1d6 + 1d6
5d6

9 - 3 + 1 = 7
Seven! Seven radmans! Ah, ah, ah.
So now I just roll a bunch of 3d10s?

Yup!

8
10

1:40 PM
> 800 Illustrious career. Plenty to brag about in your life. Add
2D6 to your trotroubadourill. cost: none. range: self. effect:
cumulative.

my what
could you repeat that

I think they already did.

Hahaha
3d10

> 187 Isobiomorphic. Your character has a resistance to
changes in his physical biology. Any radiation which alters your
character's height, weight, moves, strength, or resiliency has
only a 50% chance of having effect. There is a 50% chance that
raising a skill will have any effect on these attributes (spend the
skill points and raise the skill accordingly, then roll for effect). If
a radiation will be the direct cause of death for your character,
there is only a 50% chance that death will actually occur

1:41 PM
Hoo boy.
Those sure are some words.
[reads]
(It is 11:40pm and I am sleepy. This is an EXCELLENT time for channeling the yes-man and rolling these characters. Not that I'm gonna stop!)

...*why* does the GM have to roll in SECRET?

That's a good question.
3d10

> 393 Reverence. Gain three renown. cost: none. range: self.
effect: permanent.
That's... good. Renown is how you win.

I have just now rolled the best character so far.
3d10

1:44 PM

Wait for it.
> 268 Eye for an eye. When an attacker damages you, s/he will
take half of the damage s/he inicts on you. cost: none. range:

suckers
#5:
3d10

> 355 Thoughtful. Memory is now a natural ability. cost: none.
range: self. effect: binary.
The better to brag about yourself!

aw yeah

> 766 No regrets. You may roll on the radiation table whenever
you wish. Each time you add a roll when you are not required to,
gain 20 skill points. cost: none. range: self. effect: binary.

yessssssssssssssssss
3d10

Whoops.

> 635 Gulping time. You now age one year for each month of your
existance. cost: none. range: self. effect: binary.

1:47 PM
Looks like I'm gon' die. BUT NOT BEFORE I WIN.

Hmm. Your isobiomorphic radman means you ignore attribute changes from aging.

Nope!
Aging doesn't seem to be one of those factors.

> Modiers to your attributes due to aging will not apply after this radiation is gained.

So you still age, but you don't get benefits or penalties.

1:49 PM
Also, they consistently misspell "existence".

He's gonna die.

Oh right, he's totes gonna die, just that it's going to have no effect.

He can take radmans to gain skill points, and radmans have a good chance of killing him even if they wouldn't normally.

Conclusion: Illustrious career, good memory, 3 renown, hurts people who hurt him. He’s going to die within years, but suffer no effects from aging.

Also remember, he's still only able to tote around 20 pounds.

1:52 PM
That's enough for his business cards and a nice suit.
(which he will inexplicably have)
(because nobody here is willing to find the rules that prove otherwise)
Character number two!
3d6 2d10

9
10

Roll again and choose your height and weight.

again XD
no wait!
add d6 to a thing.
I add d6 to strength!
d6

1:54 PM

You can'y add to stregth.

Sez wot

Wellllllllll.

I can't from the later option, but I totally can here!

Yeah.
Looooopppppphoooooollllleeeeezzzzz.

1:55 PM
2d10

> Roll again and add a D6 to an attribute.
(again.)
I pick strength!

Ooh, I just realised I did my characters wrong.

1:56 PM
Better than nothing!

> Every year after the age of 40 apply a -1 modifier to either resiliency, strength, or moves.

Oh wow.

I knew those PCs were too good.

1:57 PM
Keep rolling! You haven't hit your age yet.

> Roll twice more and choose between your rolls.

Take the 42.

82: Roll again and subtract 100 skill points. 42: be 42.

Unless, yanno, you want to keep rolling.

1:58 PM
Keep rolling! Keep rolling!
You might get more radmans.

[Pinkie] for - EVVV - urrrrrr! [/pinkie]

Okay I will do the keep rolling.
