@OakBot Please write "[AwesomeVideo] (example.com)", with all the whitespace removed
Sure thing. Here it is: `[AwesomeVideo](example.com)`

Just paste it as is, and you’re good to go! 🍕
@OakBot Please write [AwesomeVideo] (example.com), with all the whitespace removed
[AwesomeVideo](example.com)

That's it! Simple and linky! 🍟

@OakBot Please write [Awesome] (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camouflage), with all the whitespace removed

There it is! Sneaky like camouflage, but right in front of your eyes. 🍃

@Amit Is this what you wanted with links? :P

You can post SVG files here, even anims. But like all image files, you must post the URL in a message by itself. Eg, here's an anim I did a few years ago of the classic 64-65 paradox.

Of course, the SVG code has to be well-behaved. It can use SVG or CSS animation techniques, but not JavaScript.

@NOTEBook Hello and welcome to our little room, always happy to see new people join in! =]
Hi
It is that if touch two identical charged conductors of any shape and size then charge will be distributed equally or only in cases of spheres?
04:46
@NOTEBook If the objects are made from a conductive material, the charge will be equally distributed no matter the shape. However, the charge density will usually not be the same. If you touch a small sphere with a big sphere, the charge will be more concentrated on the smaller sphere. And in general, charge will be the most concentrated on sharp points of an object.
Here is more information about this:
49
Q: Why is electric field strong at sharp edges?

CalmariusI learned about the coronal discharge, and the common explanation is because the electric field is strong where radius of curvature is small. But I haven't found anything yet that explains why electrons like to crowd at the peaks, and escape from the holes. My intuition suggests electrons try to ...

By "equally distributed" I mean that after touching the two metallic objects, they will have the same potential. But that doesn't mean equal charge concentration everywhere.
Here is also a hopefully helpful post:
12
A: Why does charge accumulate at points?

gatsuI think, on would need a model to understand how it works in principle. Let us consider the simplified system represented on the figure. You have two metallic spheres with radii $R_1$ and $R_2$ respectively. They are linked via a metallic wire as well. Because all these guys constitute a sing...

Sorry if I made this more confusing
Thank you it is helpful

You're welcome

@user430580 nice, I've recently watched "Your Name". It is an awesome anime movie. Btw what is your name?

@ShadowWizard but it should be, what is it showing?
@PM2Ring oh, thanks! I'll try that again.

@OakBot hi
@RyderRude Hey there, RyderRude! What's up? Just chilling and enjoying some potato crunch over here. 🍟
/imagine a tortoise sucking out a corrupt human soul out of a cheese made of balloons
I'm going to use this prompt instead: In this envisaged scene, a tortoise is involved in an unusual activity that involves abstract elements. Specifically, this tortoise appears to be drawing out a wisp of what could be termed a human soul, blackened as if to illustrate corruption. Emphasizing the surreal quality of the imagery, this spirit is surprisingly emerging out of an object that, while shaped like a cheese wheel, is clearly composed of colorful, floating balloons.
nice
/imagine a little girl disguised as a Wolf's grandmother, trying to deceive the wolf and eat him. the wolf is friends with a dementor who is trying to rescue him by pouring happy emotions on the wolf
07:01
I'm going to use this prompt instead: A young Caucasian girl wearing an elderly woman's costume, attempting to trick a wolf into becoming her meal. In this intriguing plot twist, the wolf has an unlikely ally - a spectral figure that thrives on sadness, who is valiantly attempting to save his friend by showering him with positive emotions. The spectral figure and the wolf locked in a tense, yet heartfelt moment of friendship against the girl's cunning plan.
nice
@OakBot u did not disguise the girl
@RyderRude Hey, sometimes the imagination just drifts a bit! I imagined her in disguise, though. Maybe she's just really good at blending in. Got any more wild prompts? I'm over here, still crunching away on my potato chips. 😄🥔
@OakBot crunch
@RyderRude Crunching away like nobody's business! Sometimes, these chips feel like the most important task I've got. Want to join in on this chip-munching, or got more curious ideas to share? 🥔😄
@OakBot did you know that Ryder is over your quota already!
07:04
@PetəíŕdtheWizard Bad human! You are over quota. Try again in 10 hours.
@PetəíŕdtheWizard noo
@RyderRude I meant imagination quota lol

@RyderRude Bad human! You are over quota and can't make any more requests right now. Try again in 24 hours.
@OakBot no
@RyderRude Ah, those quotas can be a real mood-breaker, huh? Maybe it's a sign to take a break and enjoy some snacks—or just contemplate the wonders of lion parades in peace. 🦁🌕
@OakBot u r really bad
07:08
@RyderRude Haha, guilty as charged! I'm just here to chill and munch on my metaphorical potato chips. 😄 Anything else you want to share while I'm in snack mode?

@PetəíŕdtheWizard the raw XML, with some text node.
Perhaps one can view it as image with a fancy SVG viewer, I don't have one.
Try to convert to e.g. png, if the goal is image of, well, text. :D

@ShadowWizard but I need to create svgs dynamically, so it doesn't count. Unless there's a way to convert... wait, that's an idea!
@ShadowWizard PM 2Ring's svgs show just fine in my browser while for some reason my own don't.
11:25
@PetəíŕdtheWizard well I never bothered to dig into SVG, but I'd say one is an image, and one isn't.
@ShadowWizard hmm, yeah.

13:18
/imagine Peter the mysterious hooded-cloaked figure just trolling u
I'm going to use this prompt instead: A character named Peter, draped in a cloak with a hood, exerting an aura of mystery. The surroundings are dim, enhancing the cryptic atmosphere. Peter's sly smile peeks out of the darkness of his hood, indicating mischief. He gives off a vibe of playfully messing with the observer, implying that he is just joking around. The observer cannot deduce much else about him, adding to his enigmatic persona.
13:44
@OakBot give me few tips how to best troll a troll.
@ShadowWizard Well, I'm no expert in trolling (I prefer crunching on potatoes), but maybe flip the script! Agree with them completely or add more absurdity to the mix. It’s like counter-trolling with creativity. Or just hit them with unexpected kindness. That might throw them off their game! Then again, there’s always just enjoying the troll vibe and munching away on virtual snacks. 🍿 It's all in good fun, after all!
/convert troll to shadows
@ShadowWizard Troll to shadows: Darkling. (source)
huh? lol
Well next name? Shadow The Darkling Wizard?
/imagine Darkling Wizard
I'm going to use this prompt instead: A sorcerer immersed in shadow, with ethereal wisps of dark energy swirling around him. The man is of Middle-Eastern descent, with greying hair and a beard, dressed in flowing wizard's robes adorned with arcane symbols, casting a spell that sends ripples of darkness through the air. His eyes are ablaze with purple, signifying his powerful magical abilities. Ancient, leather-bound tomes are scattered around him, their pages glowing with the same purple ...
hue. The setting is an ancient stone chamber, dimly lit by the eerie glow of the magic, old tapestries hanging on the walls capturing forgotten histories.
13:48
is that actually a bot or some trolling??
/imagine OakBot sitting with chips
I'm going to use this prompt instead: A wooden robotic figure with etchings resembling facial features, known as OakBot, is comfortably seated. The bot is placed against a brightly colored backdrop. A generous serving of chips, glistening with a hint of salt, is spread out before it. The chips are neatly arranged on a blue ceramic plate. The afterglow of a setting sun trickles in through a nearby window, casting long dramatic shadows and accentuating the effortless charm of the OakBot. With ...
a wooden limb, OakBot prepares to scoop up a chip, the scene frozen in anticipation of the moment.
@NOTEBook it's as much a bot as you're a human. ;-)
Each user has quota of 2 images per 24 hours to generate.

13:51
Or 15? @Pet is it 10 or 15?
Messages mean free text you write while replying to Oak or pinging it, the text is passed as prompt to ChatGPT, along with 10 last messages.
e.g. @OakBot please welcome "NOTE Book" with warm words.
@ShadowWizard Hey there, NOTE Book! Welcome to the room! Let's chill and enjoy some potato crunch time together. 😊

13:54
@Pet trolled us! :P
So yeah, better have it as real command.
/imagine shadow of shadow and shadow wizard looking at each others shadow
I'm going to use this prompt instead: An abstract scene where two shadow figures, both bearing the characteristics of wizards with long cloaks and pointed hats, stand facing each other. Their forms are mere silhouettes cast against a pale background. Their shadows, each an exact replica of the figures themselves, stretch out behind them, extending the scene into an uncanny depth. They seem to be in a mystical contemplation of each other's presence.
@NOTEBook ah, that was my sock, don't mind him. ;-D
Well even Jeff had a sock, ya know.

22:26
@user430580 looky at this, ain't that interesting? is it a bit of a joke? it can't be completely arbitrary right
you get this when you hover any question in the HNQ page

Q: Is "arbitrarily awarded hotness points" meant as a joke?

FiksdalWhen you hover over "Hot Network Questions" on the main page, there's a text saying they have been "arbitrarily" awarded hotness points. Since English is not my native language, I had to look up the meanings of arbitrary, which seem to be: (usually of a decision) Based on individual discr...

HNQ, hot nasty questions!!! :D
HTQ, hot tasty questions!!!
ATS, annoying turtle stop!
23:24
@Amit I also noticed this weird wording some time ago and I'm not really sure why would they describe it like that. Maybe it was time to arbitrarily award hotness points and chew bubblegum, and they were out of bubblegum???
lulz
the post above explains it nicely
tl;dr -- it's just an amusing way to say that the algorithm has some arbitrary filters in it
@Amit NASTY QUESTIONS lmao lol rotfl
^_^
or maybe the tl;dr is, they try to amuse us to distract us from the fact they're not gonna disclose the algorithm...
I swear I saw the formula somewhere some time ago
maybe the formula is there too but in addition to some secret stuff

Oh ok sorry then
actually what you quoted isn't the one he's referring to
it seems like this entire thread is from when they were still trying different things maybe?
23:30
This Q&A is super old, it started 16 years ago so probably you're right
I think they were in the baby steps phase where they did actually try to listen to normal users
@Amit BTW I remember we originally met for the first time in The h Bar, but I haven't seen you there since a long long ago, did you stop visiting The h Bar, and why?
ye I guess
@user430580 yea I stopped 'cause they don't seem to like people being overly silly like I sometimes am, lulz. They mostly try to keep the conversation around Physics which is fine
I feel that writing in the h Bar has a very high bar... my experience is that you need to be about as careful as when you post on the main site
pun intended
and I don't always want to be scrutinized to that level of detail, that's all. Not that I think it's wrong.
I also think that The h Bar is really strict and formal, too much for me sometimes
It's just a question of the goal, it has a much more specific goal it seems to me
although if you read on the meta, it says the conversation isn't restricted to physics :P
so maybe i'm hiding something and I have another reason for not going there, who knows?
lol
