Here's how I am thinking about it: usually the loss of behirah is something associated with habituation to that which the baser side inclines towards,
in other words the more you do something contrary to rason Hashem the harder it becomes to do otherwise (with the extreme example of this being Pharoah's heart hardening).
The sadiq on the other hand is a master of behirah. He is someone that exerts profound control and self discipline and is therefore capable of making a fully informed choice, and will then consequently choose to align his actions with rason Hashem.
The will of the sadiq and the will of Hashem are (keveyakhol) united/merged. This usually then leads to acting full in consonance with din Torah.

I think we consider behirah to be a pretty fundamental aspect of Torah/Judaism. So much so that the Rambam describes it as עקר גדול ועמוד התורה (H. Teshubha 5:3).
