Is there a way to create (mostly-)isolated users/profiles on a phone? I wanna have different profiles for different things like: 1 for social media, 1 for high-security apps, 1 for apps that I don't trust be am forced to use (e.g. COVID stuff, organization's required too), and 1 for guests so that I can lend my phone to someone for a short while.

@ChocolateOverflow According to a quick Google search, yes, it is possible on an Android. However, I was unable to find the option on my own device.

@nobody I also found that some android phones have the feature but mine doesn't. I was thinking of some application or config that should work on most android phones.

Depends on the maker abd version
I think Samsung supports that
Or just get a cheap spare phone >_>

@ChocolateOverflow Well, there is this or this for apps that you don't trust. I think both of those use Work Profiles under the hood.
But I'm not sure about the other use cases, like guests.
Maybe android.se folks can help with that

ok, I feel dumb
I am attempting to update my nginx server (docker container) to nginx w/ mod security (docker container)
the problem is my /etc/nginx/nginx.conf and /etc/nginx/conf.d/ keep getting completely overwritten
on the one hand, i get that they are writing the config to make use of mod security
but on the other hand ... I am lost at how they expect an enduser to customize the config or add lets-encrypt keys if they overwrite everything
am I doing it wrong? should it be turtles all the way down and I point my main nginx to another nginx w/ mod security which points to a specific web service?

nm ... im stupid and needed to RTFM
