I think it might be easier for me to just do this with KVM.
@Jis12yearsold. If you want to learn virtualization, this is a wonderful resource (specific to KVM): lwn.net/Articles/658511. It explains how to set up a trivial virtual machine (a few lines of machine code) directly using the KVM API. In particular, this 16-bit x86 assembly:
mov $0x3f8, %dx
add %bl, %al
add $'0', %al
out %al, (%dx)
mov $'\n', %al
out %al, (%dx)
hlt
That article explains how to interface with the /dev/kvm character device, how to set up the virtual CPU through that interface, and how to load that code into the hypervisor for it to execute.

Oh awesome, thank you :D

@Jis12yearsold. Interestingly, you should watch this evening's news on the BBC today. Their narrative is starting to change - don't get your hopes up, but it's a start.

Anonymous
@RoryAlsop The media or the government?

Media - surprising, honestly

@RoryAlsop I haven't seen him do anything. It seemed to me like he was being reasonable. Was what he did a prelude to some sort of grand trolling event?

Anonymous
It's a start, I guess. But as we saw with the Iraq war, Rory. It didn't matter what media pressure mounted - they still invaded it.

I have no hope that the media can change anything in this country. Especially not under such a reprehensible government.

@Jis12yearsold. But the Iraq war also caused a major change in the public perception of the US and almost single-handedly resulted in the US becoming a global pariah in humanitarian issues.

Anonymous
Well, that's true.

@forest who knows?
@Jis12yearsold. That's why I said don't get your hopes up - but a bit of balance in reporting must help

Anonymous
@RoryAlsop Yeah, I agree. I am just being...

Anonymous
Cynical.

Especially because I have seen firsthand before the media say they support the Palestinians and yet continue to never take action which suggests that, merely words.

I hear ya

Anonymous
But, I do agree. It is a good step :)

I think the liberal media is realizing that the anti-Palestine sentiment is not what a critical mass of their base wants to hear.

Anonymous
Yeah, who would have guessed...

Actually, that is the main point @forest. The organisation that owns the car majority of the world's press wants control and profit, even if that means changing the narrative

9:32 PM
Yeah. It's certainly not them doing it because they realized they were in the wrong.

Anonymous
:D

They just didn't expect their base to say anything other than "yeah fuck those antisemitic bastards who say Israel is hurting Palestine!"

Anonymous
Meanwhile my local MP doesn't believe that the UK government sell arms to Israel :D

wow

Anonymous
UK even announced the partnership, I have no idea how he can deny it.

9:37 PM
This seems to be similar to what I'm thinking of wrt KDP on Linux: events.static.linuxfound.org/sites/events/files/slides/…

Anonymous
Ah, okay. This seems a bit similar yes.

Anonymous
I'll have to read this, looks interesting.

So as of 2017, it looks like they have written a PoC.
This is fascinating.

Anonymous
Yeah, it is a super interesting topic.

Anonymous
I can't wait to get more into kernel stuff.

Anonymous
9:48 PM
The harder the better.

Anonymous
Little masochist me.

Since Microsoft only implemented KDP in 2020, it seems like Linux may be able to adopt something like this. Perhaps the grsec folks could be persuaded to do so.

Anonymous
YES

Anonymous
I found it!

The function or whatever?

Anonymous
9:55 PM
Yeah.

Anonymous
Instead of winsock, it was using ws232.

Anonymous
Which is much a lower API AFAIK.

Anonymous
Got a breakpoint going now :D Yeah

Anonymous
oh man this is fun!!

:p
I still feel dirty every time you say something about Windows lol

Anonymous
9:56 PM
Well, not fun when you're not winning.

Anonymous
But when you find something, man.

Better than sex... easily.

That is not a reflection on my girlfriend either. I am just a fuckin nerd... :p

god damn.

DNS? Like, networking?

Yeah, record propagation to be specific.

THATS INSANE.

Wow, that is just super impressive.

If I were that smart...

He may have just started earlier than you.

Maybe.

10:12 PM
But I will say, if he's discovering kernel exploits in highschool, what's he doing in 20 years time?

Anonymous
That's just bonkers. It's actually hard to comprehend in some ways.

Anonymous
It's SO impressive.

Anonymous
People in this industry never fail to amaze me, really.

Anonymous
It makes me realise what is possible... And it's bizarre to even think about.

He should apply at Blue Frost security or something!

Given he's German! Although, I think they mostly do a lot of Windows stuff there.

They do a lot of a lot of stuff there.

Anonymous
Hah, that's true. They do a lot :D

SRLabs also!"

I like the note at the end of his message: "if interested please reach out to nslusarek () gmx net."

I think the German government sponsored that amazing LinuxRNG paper.

10:20 PM
I don't think he needs to be worried about nobody being interested :D

Anonymous
Germany does seem to produce a lot of exceptional hackers indeed.

Hey Guys. Is it possible to access SE via Tor?

Anonymous
I gotta' up my game. But for now, I am going to bed. Been a long day. Only got like 3 hours sleep last night.

@Warlock I'm using Tor right now.

Anonymous
Goodnight :D

10:23 PM
night J

@forest Interesting. Thanks!

@Warlock It can be hard to post as guest (although possible) over Tor, but if you sign up, it generally won't give you any problems. I very rarely get any captchas.

@forest Maybe it will be more difficult if the user uses a Google account to access SE. No?

No idea. I don't use Google.

You're really serious about anonymity and privacy :D

10:26 PM
yep

A: How many encryptions are needed before OpenPGP key privacy is violated?

fgrieuI'll leave alone the OpenPGP spec, and consider the problem of identifying among $k$ public keys $(n_i,e_i)$ the RSA public key $(n_j,e_j)$ used to encrypt $m$ messages per RSA with proper encryption padding. The only way is by examining the $m$ cryptograms $c_\ell$, which essentially are indisti...

I love the quality of answers on Cryptography.

10:48 PM
Even gives an example modification of the OpenPGP standard to mitigate this!
> By making the say 256 high-order bits of the n_i equal at generation time (fixed to some haphazard constant), which is easy and does not harm RSA security or interoperability, we could make identification hopeless.
