@MechMK1 Well, FLAC is objectively better than MP3, but that's because MP3 sucks even as a lossy codec, not because lossy is inherently inferior to lossless. A better comparison would be Vorbus, Opus, or AAC vs FLAC (in which case they'd be virtually identical). MP3 is especially bad at compressing higher notes. I just had to say this because I hate MP3.

@MechMK1 Strictly speaking, it's Shannon's Maxim, not Kerkhoff's Principle, which applies here. The latter is specifically about the algorithms used in cryptosystems, not security systems in general.
