I think I know what influenced last XKCD. There was this study published that kids don't learn as much from Kindles and alike as they do by reading proper books. Well, hardly surprising actually. I always thought I read a lot of books in my life, but apparently I scrolled through even more of them :)

@LucasKauffman it's actually not that bad of a book, as long as you realize it has no real world application that doesn't come with even more grave consequences than what it's attacking as flawed in the preface

all but actually, we get a lot of freedom. But yelling in general at anyone isn't a smart thing. Especially if that person decides your wage and career opportunities ;)
@LucasKauffman I'd be curious as to what promotion they could give me, aside from me there is one other programmer, and then the two owners of the company. If they fire me, they have a problem, I know I can get a new job in no time.

(I'm currently sitting at a client in a t-shirt with the logo of a metal-festival on it. I've been in meetings with some senior management guys from a multinational in a bandshirt.
I might do something like that at some point, but right now, it works like this. I'm happy, and once I got the house stuff somewhat sorted (like new electricity done, new roof done, kitchen renewed, new shower/bathroom stuff) then I'll get to actively looking for something new.
So, I got to watch some of Brokeback Mountain yesterday for the first time and I finally understood why women love that movie. Of course it's a forbidden love story about 2 dudes, of course.

Is this proper form? If not, could we add an explicit description of not to do this?
frankly, and I probably said that many times already, we're far too anal about comments on Stack Exchange (including me, because I was trained to be) ... OK so they do sometimes gather and distract by sheer number of them, but they only display top 5 or something unless you click on "show more"
@Simon The water "wasted" with each one of those videos is hardly comparable to the amount used by people in showers, baths, cleaning cars, etc. everyday.
@DavidFreitag Ah, interesting. Shows that I haven't been on for awhile, I guess. That didn't use to be the case. Still seems to be a bit of a narrow window though. It should extend it by at least a minute, I'd think.
