@TildalWave Wednesday. We're getting this house all packed in the truck on Tuesday, then closing up there on Wednesday morning.

@ScottPack Right. I bet you're all excited already, I hear you just love moving :) OT, It's 3:36 AM and I'm still melting here... I'm opening a beer, if you care to join me...

@TildalWave I was just about to pour myself a gin and fold some laundry.
But, yeah, moving blows.

@ScottPack you're hiring movers or all on your own?

Little of both. We've hired a couple of guys to help load, drive, and unload the truck. We're actually boxing everything up.
Mmm....1 finger gin, 1 finger tonic, 2 ice cubes.

This is brilliant, esp. for math lovers: cracked.com/blog/5-math-equations-that-change-way-you-see-world . SO many excellent lines there....
> Trying to make math cool is like trying to make "not holding your breath for five minutes" cool: It already is.
> For example, you can take a human head from the members of One Direction five times before you get blessed silence.

> Then, with a particularly cunning flourish, you end up dividing nothingness by itself and becoming one. Which I think means mathematics is the king of zen.

8:04 AM
@tyler I figured it's just I don't want to get trapped by security checks

12:30 PM
@AviD Heh, that's a nice one.

12:41 PM
@ScottPack hehe I didn't complicate that much - one can of beer, mixed with another can of beer, chilled by another two cans of beer. And today is again same hot, or possibly even a bit more, so I might repeat the process... and no rain forecast for all this week either. Really ridiculous time to work and not be at the seaside :(

12:53 PM
@AviD nice :) have you seen the comment under the maths geek photo?
> "... and you'll be with me because I give quite excellent dick, QED."

@adnan got a laser for it. :p

@LucasKauffman show me show me show me!

Can't I'm on an airplane atm :p
Well sitting at the gate wasting time an probably will miss my connection in Frankfurt

5:23 PM
@LucasKauffman It's alright, just take it out of the bag and turn on the laser then start aiming it at security personnel while trying to take photos of it.

Hahaha

@Adnan I think the OP edited his question when I posted that comment

@HamZa Yup, seems to be the situation.
@Lucas Damn, totally missed the case where an attacker would delete the files from Dropbox itself and then change the password. Edited the answer, thanks.

@Adnan Child porn 99? C'mon.
My Internet crashed for a few seconds after I typed that, understood the message.

@Simon I'm not surprised you thought of that.

5:32 PM
@Adnan Ew

@Simon Ew yourself, Pedro Beer!

@Adnan Clever way to censor pedo bear.

6:05 PM
Anyone know of good router off the top of their head?
Not high cost however.

@Griffin Home? Office? With DSL? With WiFi AP? Minimum ports?

@Adnan Wifi Home but I'd like a large range

@Griffin Sub 100€? Sub 50€?

@Adnan USD but you're look at sub 60
sub 60 euro

@Griffin Linksys E2500

6:12 PM
@Adnan I like it when you agree with me
I also like these notification things.
@Adnan Crap. There's a problem it doesn't have that great of range. I need like 200 ft. At least.

@Griffin Sub 60€? I don't think so.

That's what I thought but our Asus fucktard manages it easy.
@Adnan This stupid mother fucker is the devil yet his range is crazy newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320030

@Griffin How many rooms are you planning to cover?

@Adnan When you say rooms you mean like walls to go through or people to cover?

@Griffin Walls

6:19 PM
Lemme go count :)

Q: A DDOS attack by uploading a few hundred large files - whats stopping anybody?

coderSamI am new to the IT Security field and am essentially a developer as opposed to a networking person hence the question may be a dumb one I am writing a REST service exposed to the internet which accepts files to be uploaded to the server, and the size could be up to 5 MB. We have restrictions on ...

Awful answer to an awful question. Great.

Okay
@Adan I took pictures of what it has to go through
Looks like at least 3 walls possibly a stone fire place and another wall.
The path of my wifi is a long and treacherous journey.
Hold up.
I was pretty far off.

6:34 PM
@Griffin Hmm.. doesn't look that great. So many walls.

@Ada
@Adnan It does help that I was horribly off by my guesstimate. It's more like 100 ft.
200 would be nice but I don't need it

6:56 PM
What an amazing amount of crud questionss
I have been cleaning up for the past half an hour

@RoryAlsop From where?

@Griffin Various new members of the community

@RoryAlsop On security or other sites?

sec

I haven't seen anything :/
Well I've seen stuff just not a lot

7:13 PM
I'm getting the impression that whenever a protocol uses nonces, that's a really bad sign

Whats your guys favorite router supplier? Netgear, Linksys ect.

@Griffin Honestly, I think it comes down to personal preference and past experience. I believe that if it has the features you're looking for, and it's in a price range with which you're comfortable, then it's the best for you.

@Adnan I know but sometimes there are clear advantages.

Mods should be able to star and VTC like normal human beings.

You aren't normal however

7:22 PM
@Adnan yarr - I like it when something has 4 close votes and I can add mine as if I were 'normal'

@RoryAlsop Also the starring. It sucks that if a mod personally likes something then we all have to look at it till the end of time.

I hate looking for a router. At this point I feel like I'm going just off what looks prettiest.

@Griffin Just like me at the end of the night in a bar.

@Adnan well played

@Griffin Unfortunately, I wasn't joking. That's the sad reality.

7:34 PM
@Adnan Depends on what the prettiest is.

@Griffin Me: "So what do you do?" Girl: "Hehehe, I'm now trying to find myself".
To myself: "Try not to punch her in the stomach.. try not to punch her in the stomach"
Me: "Oh, how interesting!"

@Adnan Lmao why punch her?

@Griffin I don't think I'm able to explain it. Even though I'm young, but there are things that forces some mentality maturation, just like wine and artificial introduction of oxygen.
At that stage, things like that become very irritating.

@Adnan But the lost ones are usually the most fun.

Ineptitude in certain situations ceases to be cute and becomes obnoxious.

7:46 PM
True
Now FFS I need a wifi router.
Find me a good one under $100
I've just been staring at this shit like. Well that looks pretty.

@Griffin If you're okay with refurbished, take a WNDR3800 or an RT-N56U

@Griffin I've got three of these: netgear.com/home/products/wirelessrouters/high-performance/… I just use them as access points, not routers, but I've been quite happy with them.

Oh my god, what's up with shitty members nowadays? security.stackexchange.com/questions/39710/…

@Simon I don't know, looks like a normal weekend to me.

8:04 PM
@Adnan I hope the Asus interface is nicer than out current one
Okay someone help me out here
But the first one is newer
it seems
Wait nvrm

8:30 PM
@Adnan I go through reasonably regularly and unpin stuff
@Simon Simon - a query over on the Bridge that you could probably help with - asking about proper hard techno. Will pop a link in a mo.
@Simon - read down from this bit in the transcript: chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/10527098#10527098

9:31 PM
@RoryAlsop Tell him to look into Hardcore mixes on YouTube (e.g. youtube.com/watch?v=3Tq88bU1W2A)
If he wants something "softer", he could go with Hardstyle (youtube.com/watch?v=zT-OTvscSjw)
IIRC, Hardcore is 180-220 BPM
Hardstyle is 140-160

10:20 PM
@Simon cheers dude

10:55 PM
> Note that I can't handle that switch .

yeah. You want the switch? **YOU CAN'T HANDLE THAT SWITCH!!**
@CodesInChaos I believe the original saying was "IRC: Where the men are men, the women are men, and the 14-year-old girls are FBI agents."
I remember hearing that some 20 years ago

the variant I remember is "The internet: where men a men, women are men, and children are the FBI"

Anyone else tried using c9.io ? I like the concept, but I find the implementation frustrating.
