9:01 PM
@TildalWave "evening"... with my older ones' social schedules, that tends to be around midnight...

@AviD now you know why old farts sleep for 5 hours a day ;)

@TildalWave hey, I'm fine with 5 hours of sleep a day, as long as I get 10 at night.
5

and @AviD's back :))

9:35 PM
@jefff - you got Kelly's email okay?

Does anyone around here specializes in hating on Windows Server (IIS, ASP, etc.)?

As someone who hasn't used it at all, I think the amount of hate I can provide is unbounded :P

AKA is an expert in its vulnerabilities and etc.

@ManishEarth That would be ignorant hate. The worst kind.

@AviD Yep, it would be. But he's asking for hate, so I assumed any kind would do :P

9:40 PM
@ManishEarth unfortunately, it is also the most common.

Yep

My favorite hate is the one you can't understand e.g. "I hate this dude but I don't know why".

Used to use IIS for prolly 10 years since the early days on and eventually switched to Apache... never regretted it, tho it did take quite some learning before I was able to use it to same level as IIS before... but I don't hate IIS, I think it's actually pretty good for a MS product

9:58 PM
@TildalWave Are you sure that you can support a such statement?
Did you have to reboot the server like once a week?

@TildalWave "... for a MS product"...??
@Simon whaa???
Ignorance and anti-MS fanboi-ism, beware.
2

@AviD Doesn't Windows Server get super slow after being up for a week?

@TildalWave btw IIS really underwent massive changes over the past few years... it almost doesnt look the same...
@Simon only if you load all your porn into memory.

@AviD I guess all enterprises I've visited are all about porn on their servers.

@Simon never heard of such a thing... at least not on one properly managed.

10:04 PM
@AviD That might be the case then. That was the case on servers at school and at my past 2 enterprises.

@Simon Actually no... tho that was on Win 2000 / 2003 last I used it but it was really stable believe it or not. Some early config hiccups but then smooth as butter... tho Apache is same, I never experienced major bummers with either really, only that Apache runs on all platforms I need it to

@TildalWave yeah, OS independance is definitely the big draw there.

@TildalWave I see.

@AviD yeah I wouldn't know so much about that, so I admit it's possible we're talking of two different things now
> Terry Chia is now Internship at Red Hat
that's news to me ^ :|

Wow, that's awesome.

10:07 PM
@TildalWave congrats @terry

@AviD ^this @Terry - nice one

Yup @TerryChia congrats on new position! :) Remember, we serve all hat colors here :P
even Boy George's favorite one :))

Nice! Congratulations!

10:23 PM
@RoryAlsop Yes. I'll fill it out tonight or tomorrow. got lost in my queue

@JeffFerland cool - was worrying I had the wrong email

10:44 PM
@adnan - just for you, from the early days before the costumes were finalised:
@Lucas, there is no mini-kilt...just in case you were wondering.
Oh, and the song actually starts at 0:00, I just thought it would be funny to have my random soloing bit (the guys ran off stage to cool down as that was a hot summer as well. Emmett was suffocating in his Polish Air Force G-suit

11:20 PM
@TildalWave Nice @TerryChia
It's quite interesting that RC4 is totally disabled in Windows 8.1 preview.
Not really related to security.SE in particular, but I've always found it kind of sad that it's the joke answers that seem to rack up all the points.
Is humor really more appreciated than eloquence?

@DariusJahandarie so much so it's probably been half a year since I've last even heard of the word "eloquence", and even then probably in one of the Primus songs - mr. Knowitall :)
talking of which...
this ^ will be probably more to @RoryAlsop's liking :) (check front rows movement @ 2:16 hehe)
