@Zanna Nope.
@Zanna No. I am not hinting you. I am just saying that I have reduced talking because others in those chat rooms have done that.

@NogShine welcome Singam :P
Looks India is on brink of a overseas Test win :P

The tail should be cut sooner.
That is a weakness.
btw,
This needs medical care and it is involving health. Answering left or right or anything and someone follows, there could be some problems. It depends on person to person. "Our goal is not to substantiate and fight between the two and provide alternative forms of medicine which can be deemed dangerous in any form." from our faq How much of Ayurveda is accepted here?, You should ask this on a proper site. — Sarvabhouma 7 mins ago

4:07 AM
@NogShine Yes. removing tailenders is India's weakness.... Already 8th wicket had 40 run stand
@NogShine This can be answered in tantra.... Because Siddha tradition talks about this on which side of body one should sleep so that one Nadi flows, and what it does spirituallyy... This is not just ayurveda

4:18 AM
@AkshayS The question is too vague to be answered. We don't know why they seek answer. As it looks currently, this looks as a medical question.
We are not here to provide conflicts between different medical systems.

@NogShine This is also a yogic question apart from medical. I see this as yogic question

@AkshayS When a question looks different to different people, then we should close it as unclear and not answer because that may not be the answer the OP wants. How do you know the OP is asking from Yogic perspective?

@NogShine Yogic perspective here I meant, this is not off topic. Our breath flows different sides different days and we are recomended to sleep accordingly in different days. I have already posted here about that

I am not at all sure why some questions become off-topic just because the term comes from other country than India. Still people say that it is welcoming to all and not just native to Indians.
@AkshayS It is your assumption only. The OP said nothing why and what they are looking for. Nothing written in the body.

Q: Is Neo-Vedanta a sect of Hinduism?

IkshvakuIs Neo-Vedanta a sect of Hinduism? This wikipedia article says this: Neo-Vedanta..... are terms to characterize interpretations of Hinduism that developed in the 19th century. Some scholars argue that these modern interpretations incorporate western ideas[4] into traditional Indian re...

Why is this off-topic?

@NogShine Yes probably I am seeing with my third eye :P thats why to me it is related to Hinduism :P

4:30 AM
@AkshayS Not joking. It is a vague question because different people see it differently. If that is the case, they should not be answered but improved. After it comes to a good shape, that should be answered.

@NogShine then suggest improvment for that question because i want to know from which angle author looking for

@AkshayS You also can do it. I am not the only user here. Because that looks yogic perspective for you only. I already said in a comment why in that state, it is not fit.

@NogShine before i answer from authentic source. Just a glance shivasiddhar.org/…

@AkshayS Don't answer vague questions. That is not good practice. Let the OP improve question first.
Question should be understood by whole community.

@NogShine I am waiting for authors angle
@NogShine Let us change community bot to community user :P

4:37 AM
@AkshayS comment and wait. We can't edit because we don't know why the OP is knowing this and why. Vague tags too.

@NogShine 268/9 :O

Nathon Lyon :Angry emoji:

@NogShine 323 is not far... India bowling 1 loose ball per over. That should be stopped

@AkshayS 10th
@NogShine hi

@Akash.B It will be extremely difficult for you to sit with quiet mind. First step is do regular worship in pooja room after morning bath. Have food after bath. Try to finish bath within an hour after wake up...First smal small aspects of bring in self discipline. When you become disciplined, advanced spiritual practice of meditation will come by itself.

4:52 AM
ohkay

There is no seperate spiritual practices because life itself is spiritual if we lead disciplined life!

@Akash.B Hi

@NogShine wassup?
@AkshayS can you suggest me some books to read?

@Akash.B do japa with process what is said to you by rickross... Purify the mind, regular in pooja room after bath, - what is prescribed to you as method of worship be sincere in that first. (EX: since i am a brahmin, my prescribed method of worship is Sandhyavandhanam, Narayana mantra japa, regular to visit nearby temples)... In this way what is your method of worship by nature of birth, do that regularly. As you advance, spiritual realms open naturally!

@AkshayS mantra for luck?right?

Q: How naga sadhus reach to kumba mela place?

user2225190I have read this in a facebook post, I felt it as a puzzle and thought to ask here. We all know that naga sadhus won't wear cloths, but how they reach to kumba mela place? Q: What are some Stotra of Lord Shiva

DevaPlease let me know some stotra of lord Shiva and What are some benifit of it.Like most popular Tandav Stotra and Panchakshiri Stotra.

@Zanna That is like seeking aversion from material pleasures I think. Kunti asked for troubles all the time so that she will remember God during trouble.
@Hinduismbot too broad.

@NogShine edit the spelling mistake of benefit in above Shiva stotra question
@NogShine Without hunger, troubles, humans wont turn back to God

@AkshayS actually it is too broad question.

7:58 AM
@NogShine but edit the small mistake

@Zanna Lol

@AkshayS even if they ask for one or two, that will still be too broad.

8:18 AM
@NogShine partly yes, but historically it's also a form of protest and social critique against the gaudy riches of the church compared to the dismal situation of the populace and the greed of the clergy
thank you for the story about Kunti :)

Q: Kurinji Andavar Temple

VineetI had visited 'Kurinji Andavar' Temple earlier & am curious about it. On searching, found that as per the Tamil literature, Kurinji means 'hill region' and Andavar means 'God', hence Lord Muruga is referred as 'God of hill'. So far so good. Further, found that Murugan means Kartikeya. Now the que...

There is a novel by British author Frances Hodgeson Burnett called A Little Princess. Its protagonist is the daughter of rich* widower who places her in an elite London boarding school. Due to her wealth, she is the creme de la creme at the school, but she is also kind hearted and generous, so nobody is jealous of her.

When her father goes missing in action (in WWI), Sara is suddenly destitute. The headmistress of the school allows her to stay as an unpaid servant, making her sleep in the attic and do housework all day.

Vinay KumarHow can we calculate planet transits mathematically for a particular planet like Jupiter or Saturn from date of birth

@NogShine 135th time? Wow nice keeping the counting in mind. hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/30345/…

the first two comments terribly violate this universal SE principle of commenting

@Zanna there are tons of those comments like them.

I saw a quora question asking this (without any religious viewpoint) and answers to it, but they seemed to lack evidence
@NogShine frustrating

@Zanna Let us discuss and dive into spirituality further :P

what do you mean?

@Zanna Which comments are we talking about ? Can you share the link to that comment ?

left side. or back. — ram 17 hours ago
and the next one

Got it.

Akshay S linked to one comment there in the previous message, otherwise I would have linked
but excuse the lack of clarity
I will try to make the context of my remarks less obscure in future :)

3:08 PM
Lol yes that would be great for guys who join chat in between the conversation... :P

that's everyone at some point haha

Is it okay to use "obscure" in a office meeting when someone trying to explain something and that thing is not understandable to anyone ? @Zanna
Btw time to take shower.
@AkshayS fyi It's always recommended to take shower twice a day for a Yogi.

@TheLittleNaruto hmm if the thing in question is not known to others, it is obscure. If the explanation is bad, then maybe it's not obscure, just they are not making sense and need to give an example or something. If they are not explaining well on purpose, maybe they are being obtuse haha

@Zanna I meant spiritual knowledge discussion
@TheLittleNaruto Yes...

3:29 PM
@AkshayS I was wondering if you wanted to start a discussion like that (sure) or if you were talking about the quality of answers

Haha...coming to topic do you know your mind and breath are connected?

well... brain needs oxygen... also by breathing in particular ways, you can calm or focus or energise...

You just don't breath in oxygen. There's 1 more energy going inside called Pranan @Zanna

what kind of thing is that?

Hi

3:43 PM
hello!

@Zanna Pranan is the Cosmic energy, cosmic Prana which was entering through top of head when we were born and skull didn't develop. Now that is closed it's entering through nostrils..

@Zanna Are you new to the site?

We were there in stage unconsciously. Consciously returning back to that stage is spirituality.

@Akash.B yes

@Akash.B SSS

3:47 PM
@AkshayS can we feel that cosmic energy entering through our nostrils?

I like your user picture, very nice artwork @Akash.B

@Zanna oh thank you
Its the picture of lord shiva
@AkshayS are you online?

@Akash.B right now you can't because Nadis aren't purified and don't know the art of filtering Cosmic Prana from oxygen.
If you can filter Cosmic Prana from oxygen that day you will be enlightened man

Okay how can i?
@AkshayS ^^

@Akash.B when mind stops Cosmic Prana enters through spine

3:54 PM
@AkshayS Mind stops?
You mean empty?

@Akash.B don't understand u
@Akash.B mind should be still

@AkshayS oh
Calm and thoughtless, right?
@AkshayS ^^

@Akash.B yes

4:29 PM
@Zanna @_@

sorry

OM SHAKTI! Sleeping time... time for bed. @TheLittleNaruto KALA BHAIRAVA :P

in general yes what is not being made clear is obscure
@AkshayS good night :)

@Zanna Good evening :D... At least after visiting this site, hoping see your life influence changes from mind to Higher "Self"

@AkshayS it's very kind of you :)

4:50 PM
@AkshayS Is there any reason for using different spelling pranan and prana?

5:06 PM
@Zanna That doesn't mean you should throw advises randomly.

@NogShine agreed, definitely

@AkshayS I have lost count how many times I said that in various occasions. Some use "millionth time" or something like that. I use a number.

but on AU, such comments are mostly not tolerated. Someone (often me) will reply to the comment answerer and tell them to post an answer. On the other hand, there are many poor answers that give bad advice, haven't been tested, make spurious claims, etc. And not enough users who downvote...

@Zanna I tried it and the reply as something like "I have no sources. So, the mods will convert to comment. So, I'm writing a comment instead"
@Zanna Do you have ideas for Winterbash? I mean which question to post.

@NogShine that's what I got on my own question here. But the comment answers were very helpful to me
@NogShine no... actually I very rarely think of questions :(

5:13 PM
@Zanna Laziness is not a reason to write a comment.

On AU I've posted 640 answers, and 21 questions

@Zanna You can post many. "According to scriptures, how long should I eat?" "Can I eat fruits in breakfast?. What do scriptures say in this regard?"

hahahaha

and Horse riding questions, programming questions too.

I think you have a lot of scriptures. Thus you can find some mention of every conceivable topic

5:16 PM
@Zanna Some will say "These are perfect fit for our site. Only who haven't read smritis and scriptures will close as off-topic. There are many instructions like these in our scriptures". You will get a nice question badge easily.
btw, you can flag comment answers under closed and off-topic questions.
@Zanna Each and every topic.

such questions are easy to answer. One need only find the appropriate quotation.
@NogShine I was about to flag the comment answers but I looked on meta first... I found this post and so I didn't flag

@AkshayS Good Night Jai MahAkAla 😎

@NogShine @Zanna If you're the one who posted comment, you will get upvotes and eventually a pundit badge.
@Zanna Hinduism Meta mostly doesn't follow Meta SE guidelines.
Don't get surprised if comment flags are declined.

I have been eating fruit at breakfast time for 14 years or so... if it's wrong, I am in big trouble XD

These faq, help centres Sa these but the practice is contradictory. Mods themselves say answering is ok and my flags were declined. When I asked a user to write comment ( which answer the question precisely with source) as answer they said answer will be converted to comment and mod intervened saying they did it many times and it's fine. When these posts are not followed, they are just good for reading. Long comments and series of comments which answer the question which don't give hints should be deleted by mods. We don't want comment answers or lazy comments here. — Sarvabhouma Aug 29 at 6:24
> So, strickly speaking comment box shouldn't be used for answering questions.
and at the same time,

5:24 PM
the thing about comments is that they can't be effectively moderated and can't support their own comment threads

> However, sometimes comments that provides some information that can be very useful for the investigation (i.e for finding an answer to the question) for OP or visitors usually deemed as worthy to keep.
Contradictions in answers and they are upvoted heavily.
@Zanna I posted about redundant and misleading comments.

surely they could have found something in scripture about answering in the comments
didn't Manu have anything to say about that topic?

Many give accurate info in comments. But why not post it as answer and then expand it with sources?
or wait and answer properly.

indeed
I should write an answer to your meta question XD

Q: Guarding of women's quarter in the later Vedic and Puranic eras

Bhargav ChowdhuryWe come to learn from the Mahabharata and various puranas that Krishna had 16,000 or 16,100 wives besides his 8 principal consorts. Q: At which point in time did Hinduism begin to embrace vegetarianism exactly?

Q: Does Rahu actually cause solar eclipses, or does the Moon?
