Q: References to Zoroastrianism in Hindu scripture?

IkshvakuAre there any references to Zoroastrianism in Hindu scripture? The reason I ask is because Zoroastrianism might have come from Hinduism.

I think for sure this user is intentionally engaged in controversy. While we can be patient but still there's a limit to everything because usage of words are not appropriate. hinduism.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/1466/…

@AkshayKumarS Use Moderator intervention flags for that. Talking about user's activity publicly could be a problem.
btw, have you voted to close the question as duplicate?

@RubelliteYakṣī The user is not new. That is what they say. :|

Have you heard of Vasi Yoga @NogShine?

@AkshayKumarS When you see rude comments or posts, use rude flag. For cases where a user is crossing limits and that doesn't fit in any of the other flags like Rude/friendly, use custom flags.

A: How does comment voting and flagging work?

Toon KrijtheSome parts of this answer are taken from the 2009 Stack Overflow blog post Comments: Now with Flags and Votes. Note that flagging has changed considerably since that blog post. @AkshayKumarS No. What is it about?

I have seen in google sites that they are confusing VASI with Kriya Yoga and Pranayama.
VASI YOGA is a technique given by Lord Shiva, a shortcut path to free from birth/death cycle. He gave it to his disciple/son Lord Muruga->Agathyar-> so on.

Is it passed through siddhar tradition?

Due to some hidden knoweldge about it I cant directly give here in public but I will give you key. VASI YOGA is shortcut way to absorb the Cosmic energy from head, Brahmandhara. And yes, it is passed through Siddhar tradition.

4:25 AM
@AkshayKumarS There are many misinformed Hinduism groups on Google groups and other platforms.

It was first given to world by Sivananda Paramahamsar. Still now they have that tradition in Kerala, vadakarai - they are teaching this correctly. Rest of the world, I am not sure how correctly they are teaching. But if you know VASI YOGA, your KARMAS are burnt instantly in a second.
VASI YOGA happens automatically when one reaches or falls into deep meditation where their external breath stops.

Oho

Vatha, pitha, Kaba. And KABA is the YAMA - Agathyar says. If you know to churn the KABA, and extract nectar out of it, you'll be freed from birth/oldage/disease/death. This is the reason why Lord Shiva also has poison in his throat!
We can follow everything from Vedas, to Shashtras to attain Moksha but path of Tantra, Kaivalya = a shortway according to my opinion./

@AnkitSharma would you like to read from the original or a story from blog is fine?
According to legend, Sarpa Satra or Snake sacrifice was a yagna performed by Emperor Janamejaya of the Kuru empire who had ascended to the throne of Hastinapura upon the death of his father Parikshit. The legend states that Parikshit, the lone descendant of the House of Pandu, son of Abhimanyu and grand son of Arjuna of the Mahabharata fame, had died of snakebite. He had been cursed by a sage to die so, the curse having been consummated by the serpent-chieftain Takshaka. Janamejaya bore a deep grudge against the serpents for this act, and thus decided to wipe them out altogether. He attempted this...

Q: How many Yugas are actually there - 4 or 18 as mentioned by Sage Agastya?

hanumanslaveYuga(m) is one of the basic units of time. Most Indian scriptures mention 4 yugas namely krita yuga, treta yuga, dvapara yuga and kali yuga. Each yuga has its own time scale and is regulated by years. In that case, now we are in kali yuga and after this again krita yuga will start. Most of us kn...

I think this is editing against the OP's intention. Because the OP asked question in the title and answered the question in the title. And said "What do you think". That was changed to something else.

@SwiftPushkar It's crazy madness here as every year but unfortunately I have to wait till Ashtami (i.e. tomorrow) to be over to celebrate. I have exams.😢
And it'll be very crowdy on Navami and Dussehra to visit Pandals so I'll have to brace a crazy crowd when I go pandal hopping lol.

Q: Does the fragmental Atman travels?

Greg LevenskiShankara in one of his verses gives the definition of jiva -""When the omnipresent Atman is limited or embodied by the mind,ego of subtle body, it is called jiva"". I think once the infinite is embodied by the subtle body, it becomes a fragment called jiva. {{Fragmental Atman = jiva}}. A question...

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Don't invite through comments. It is a noise. Ask a moderator to add a community event instead. It will show up in the bulletin board. Interested users will visit. Don't disturb others in comments. They are unnecessary.

@AkshayKumarS is there something to talk with a moderator? do you use flags?

@AkshayKumarS hi.

@NogShine - just check link above

2:19 PM
@AkshayKumarS Flag them. System will know about his rude comments.

@AkshayKumarS Yes, as destroyer said, use flags. Flag as rude or unfriendly or select 'something else'. Describe your problem
You will get a shiny badge too. :)

@TheDestroyer - done but this is happening again & again.
@NogShine - haha.

@AkshayKumarS Flag them. He will get ban if he doesn't change behavior.

@TheDestroyer - do you know which Kalpa Markendaya story happened?
From what I have seen here, it looks you have all Puranas story with you

@AkshayKumarS Which story? Markandeya Pralaya or Markandeya Shiva?

2:26 PM
Shiva giving boon of immortality to 16 yr old Markendaya @TheDestroyer

@AkshayKumarS This story is not found in any Purana.

@AkshayKumarS That story doesn't occur in the Puranas. From Narasimha Purana, it is Lord Vishnu who saves him from Yama and gives boon of immortality. Both are different incidents.

@TheDestroyer @NogShine - No Puranas? Markendaya hugging Shiva linga? I am asking that story

Yes.
how are you @TheDestroyer ? Long time.
How are utsavams going on in at Kanakadurga temple? Did you visit lately?
Argh. he left.

I know another destroyer who has some decent prefix word..

2:32 PM
who is that?

we play games on steam

@NogShine - Do you know Thirukadayur in Tamil Nadu? Amirthakadeshwar temple?

@Mr_Green Ohh..
@AkshayKumarS Googles
Is this temple related to Markandeya?

@NogShine - I visited that temple last year and that temples stand out was Abirami Andhadhi where Abirami batacharya sang, and second, Markendaya who seeked protection of Shiva linga.

Story of Markandeya granting immortality is based on Sthala puranam only. There is no scriptural basis for that story. There is another king who was saved by Lord Shiva stated in Linga Puranam. His name is Shweta. There is another boy who was saved by Shiva. So people might have confused both.

2:40 PM
@NogShine OK OK chill lol

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Ohh.. I thought of pinging @SwiftPushkar and not you.

Q: Which schools of Indian philosophy consider the Vedas to be apauruṣeya (authorless) and which don't?

sv.Are Vedānta and Mīmāṃsā the only schools that believe the Vedas to be apauruṣeya? Are there any other schools? And those that didn't believe this, did they agree with each other on the human authorship of the Vedas? Or did they have any differences among themselves?
