We had read about the sage Markendaya story where Lord Shiva saves the 16-year old boy from Yama and blessed him with immortality. Do we have any reference to which Kalpa, Mahayuga, Manvantra it happened?
I was reading the Griffith translation for the Atharva Veda and came across Book 20 Verse 136 which is translated not in English but Latin. Does anyone have a link to an English translation for the same or can someone share a snapshot if its in a book?
My question is straightforward. Is temples associated with this Kaliyuga alone or did we have it even before? Prior to Krishna and post Rama? We had 3 Mahayuga passing before Krishna descended to Earth.
Is the influence of western materialistic life for world is a feature of this Kaliyuga? Did it happen like this before? Or did we had Indian kings alone ruling the world in Kaliyuga?
As you can see, on this page, users are ranked according to their participation. So, some users are ranked higher than others as they have participated more in comparison.
My question is how exactly this participation is calculated?

@Pandya I think, "Vande Mataram" doesn't specify "Bharat mata" as such. Later on it was interpreted that it had association with "Land of Bangla" or "Land of Bharat". I was not able to find the word "Bharat" in it.
The oldest reference possibly remains the painting named as "Bharat Mata" from Abindranath. She could well be derivation of goddess Durga, due to Durga being representation of liberation (not necessarily Moksha) from evil forces. Hence, I would not term her as a "look a like" of goddess Durga.
(another such derivation / re-interpretation is "Shrinathji" which is considered the Baal-roop of lord Krishna)
@iammilind People and country saw it as representing India only. That is the reason it played vital role in Independence and selected as National song after Independence.
In RV.7.35 Rishi Vashist MaitraVaruni describes various gods, things and places which were auspicious. Here in the hymn 5 we find a term jishnu - 'sham no rajsaspatirstu jishnu' T.H.Griffith translates this as - 'gracious the Lord victorious of the region'.
But, I have found this term Jishnu...
It was said in our scriptures that mahalaxmi got angry with Lord Vishnu and moved out of Vaikuntha and Vishnu followed her in descending to Earth. But when this exactly happened? Is it in this Kaliyuga beginning? Or was in previous Mahayuga?
It is commonly said that Bhoodevi Andal's independent picture or photo should not be kept and worshipped in house. It is not a opinion based. Are there any purnaical evidences pertaining to this?

My meta answer is simple. I posted what I think and wrote a similar note like that of question. According to logic of you and others, active participants, high reps should be given ample time for updating. That is what you wrote in answer. But you haven't followed it in practice. So, some people's contributions are ok ans some are not? Is there a partiality? Contribution can be in an way and votes, edits, reviews.. anything. Everyone should be treated equally based on answer and not the user.
