Q: How did Draupadi got her name Panchami?

Kailash Chandra PolaiWhat is the difference between Panchami and Panchali two names of Draupadi? Or both are same? Did Draupadi had other names also?

3:56 AM
Boring question above.
Btw, @SwiftPushkar Tezz has commented on my post. Chaitanya has two aspects 'Prakasha' and 'Vimarsha'... 'Prakash' is essentially present in all things as it is through what things get existence... but 'Vimarsha' is power of self awareness.. every species/ being has a different Vimarsha level.. also animals have less Vimarsha level than humans.. and humans have less Vimarsha level than higher States like of MantraMaheswara .
when Shiva reaches in the Sakala Pramatra state then it's Vimarsha level reaches about zero.. and it makes insentinent things.

Q: Book recommendation for koormayoga

Cyriac AntonyKoormayoga refers to the practice of withdrawing the senses like a 'Koorma' aka tortoise withdraw its legs into the shell. This withdrawing of senses is very important for a yoga sadhak at least in the initial stage. Koorma avatara reminds us that ones journey for moksha (amrutha) starts with thi...

I think "Dau" दाऊ and "Munna" मुन्ना are hindi words , and are of modern origin.So its not possible for both of them to call each other by these exact phrases , as sanskrit was spoken at that time. But we might find , use of similar sanskrit words used by both during conversation. — SwiftPushkar Oct 22 '16 at 10:34
@SwiftPushkar This should be an answer. Can you write an answer? ^

Q: Questions regarding the ritual of Vratyasoma

Surya Kanta Bose ChowdhuryVratyasoma is a ritual performed by Vratyas (people who have failed to perform Upanayana in time) to readmit themselves to the fold of Varnashrama Dharma. Many Westerners who convert into Hinduism are said to perform this ritual. However, according to Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Maha...

@TheLittleNaruto Hello , I am preparing your answer 1/2 done , need scriptural support .. Hope that i will be able to post it soon :-)

@SwiftPushkar it is a cultural question.
Everything can't be/shouldn't be answered from scriptures only.

@NogShine yes , but we will answer it from Dharmic point of view and will try to find the view of scriptures.

@SwiftPushkar can't help with that

@NogShine Yes u r quite right , i know that very well , but justt following rules .

@SwiftPushkar Thanks Man :)

9:40 AM
@SwiftPushkar The question is why do they do it and not what's the point of view of scriptures.

I want to give answers as well. What all things I need to take care of while answering a question on this site ?

@AnkitSharma haha , i believe U CAN You are already expert 💡 in movies and Tv So u can be here

Our site is full of questions like "What do scriptures say about X" and some questions are based questions without much analysis and practical thinking. I don't find such questions useful at all.
@SwiftPushkar There is no rule you should cite a scripture.
I really like an answer without a block quote and it is becoming hard to find such answer. :|

you?

me too studying... 😂😂😂

4:39 PM
Ok.
Are you reading any scripture as well? @Tezz

@SwiftPushkar Thanks!!
@TheLittleNaruto I think you have found now.

@KrishnaShweta yes, reading about Trika scriptures nowadays..
@KrishnaShweta what about you?..

Trika scriptures means?
Few days back I continued reading SB but stopped.

Kashmiri Shaivite texts right? @Tezz

@NogShine Hi

4:48 PM
@KrishnaShweta non dualist Shiva Aagams... tradition which continued as Srikantha Trayambaka Utpaladeva Somananda Abhinavagupta etc....
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury yes, also known as Kashmiri Shaivism for easy recognition...

@Tezz Accha.

@Tezz How do Kashmiri Shaivites see Krishna? I mean, do they agree Krishna=Shiva?

@KrishnaShweta Acchhi... 😂😂😂

@KrishnaShweta o/

4:52 PM
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury KS is totally nondualistic... Shiva himself is in form of gods like Rudra and Krishna.. and demons also.. and also stones bricks also....everything is just expansion of Shivas Shakti...😊😊😊

@Tezz Wish there was Kashmiri Vaishnavism

By Shiva deity with three eyes or damaru etc.. isn't meant.. Shiva means the Supreme Consciousness... Sarvochha Chaitanya... and Consciousness itself present itself as this world and all..

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury There is Bengali Vaishnavism.

@NogShine Yeah Gaudiya Vaishnavism
But very few in number. Mostly Smarthas here

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury as you wish there might be.. as your base of imagination is to Chaitanya ie. Consciousness... and Icchhya Shakti is projected through your Chaitanya while imagining this... 😂😂😂

4:57 PM
@Tezz Lol I thought Chaitanya Mahaprabhu for a brief moment

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury that thought has too basis on Chaitanya... 😂😂😂

@Tezz 😂 has become your signature smiley. Huh?

@Tezz btw in Kashmiri Shaivism, is the world satya or mithya or satyasatya?

Q: What are some stotrams/mantras that are said to destroy lust?

Surya Kanta Bose ChowdhuryWhat are some stotrams/mantras (that don't require initiation) that are said to overcome lust if recited? P.S. I'm preferably looking for stotrams dedicated to Vishnu.

@NogShine something like that... 😂😂😂

5:01 PM
@Tezz Our pushar forgot his old signature and got a new one. ;)

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury everything is based on consciousness... world is projection of consciousness powers... ie. Shakti like Icchya Jnana Kriya Chid Aananda... so it's real... but not real in that sense we see it... normally due to Tirodhana kriya of Shiva we see Bheda in objects ....

@NogShine yeah more or less.

@NogShine 😂😂😂

@Tezz bheda as in?

@TheLittleNaruto Sarvabhouma is my name here. A man has many names.

5:05 PM
@KrishnaShweta Are you from the Rudra Sampradaya?

Yeah.

@NogShine What does Sarvabhouma actually mean?

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury for eg. You see stone and water as stone and water and not as Shiva although they are Shiva in reality... it's because of Tirodhana (Veiling) action of Shiva... and when Anugraha comes in action you see both stone and water as Shiva... and it's called Pralaya....

@TheLittleNaruto Are you okay with the answer? I wrote it in 20 minutes...
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Man! I thought you know it.

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Satyasatya means?

5:07 PM
@NogShine Sarvabhouma Bhattarcharjee? Or idk lol
@KrishnaShweta Neither real nor illusory as Tulsidas says

@Tezz Ah...understood

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury He is Gaudiya Vaishnava acharya -_-

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Ok....

I am talking about real meaning.

5:09 PM
@NogShine Lol yeah
@NogShine No idea lol

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Whom do you see in the pic of Sarvabhauma?

@NogShine I almost left Advaita because of Sarvabhouma

Btw what do you guys think of Paramahamsa Nityananda? @NogShine @Tezz @KrishnaShweta

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury it is a mangala shlokam. Generally, such verses's sources are not known.

Anubhav JhaI know there are multiple rudras, the rudra born from brahma is said to be red and blue in colour, but sankar or ShiVa are said to be karpur gauram and nila kantham, what's the difference between the two?

@TheLittleNaruto Actually, the first paragraph answers your query. The Rig Veda quote is a polish to that one. Even I found about it today while searching citations.

@TheLittleNaruto Said to be a modern avatara of Shiva. However, there was a sex tape release once on him. Nevertheless, the court acquitted him.

@TheLittleNaruto Don't you know Nityananda Swami?

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury who is he?... I don't know him...

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury I haven't thought anything about him yet but there were scandals about him. He is out of them now though. That's a different issue.

@NogShine No. TBH I don't find today's Babas very trustworthy
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury ^

Swami Nithyananda (in longer form Paramahamsa Sri Nithyananda) is a Hindu spiritual leader, and is believed by his disciples to be an avatar – a reincarnated deity. He is the founder of Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam, which is based in India but has devotees on a broader international scale. The Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam is regularly involved in hosting and promoting cultural events related to Hinduism across the United States including in Ohio, California, and Texas. They have also set two Guinness world records, one in rope yoga and one in pole yoga (mallakhamba). Swami Nithyananda's organization states...

So I better avoid checking on their bio

Even I thought he was a fraud but I'm having second thoughts after Rajiv Malhotra praised him and called him to legit

5:23 PM
Many foreigners convert into Hinduism and accept him as Guru. There were many videos on YouTube of his followers.
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Well, many things happen behind the stage. We don't actually know what happens.

Foreigners are always attracted to Hinduism culture. I don't see it a valid reason to trust a Baba.

I am not saying I am trusting a Baba.

@NogShine Yeah. Btw the original uploaders of that sex tape "admitted" that it was doctored

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury he may be true (or fake).. its difficult to judge yogis.. In Pashupata Sutra it's ordered that Vratadhari should do lunatic kind of behaviour... flirt with girls etc... so that mass /people think bad of him....

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury What is your age and what are you talking about? Flagged it :P (JK)

5:26 PM
Of course you're not. But you're putting a point to prove..

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury There were other rumours too.

This mobile browser is sending messages late

@NogShine Its a common topic for teens nowadays lol

@TheLittleNaruto I just shared what I found on Youtube while browsing. I am on the same page as you.

5:27 PM
Sure

Btw @NogShine Have you heard of this controversial Vaishnava Guru: Paramahamsa Vishwananda?

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury You are giving new names lol

His organisation is Bhakti Marga

why is he controversial.
Just a caution. We are on public platform.
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Now continue.

@NogShine Am I allowed to use that word then lol?

5:30 PM
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury What I mean is while talking about Swamijis, some may feel offended. That's it. So, I'm cautioning.

He's said to be homosexual with his disciples @NogShine

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Ohh!

I still don't know his Sampradaya though

Where do you find all these details?

Sites and YouTube

5:33 PM
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury His namam looks different. There is a mix of Gaudiya and Sri. In another pic, there is a black namam instead of White. Might be a new path.

I saw his interview after that bad video was released. I hardly remember that he said "There was no such bad thing happened and his haters made that video" @SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury

@NogShine Yeah plus he puts emphasis on Shiva too
@KrishnaShweta The media totally dislikes him

Is he US based?

However, I didn't believe any of his words in that interview. He is very bad. @SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury

@NogShine Poland and Maldives

5:35 PM
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Nice :D

@KrishnaShweta Lol No. 14

@TheLittleNaruto Another thing you need is Google foo. Many questions can be answered by Google search. (regarding answering)

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury means?

You're the 14th person I have met to dislike him. @KrishnaShweta
@NogShine Have you heard of Bijoy Krishna Goswami?

Another name.

5:40 PM
He's not bad lol

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Do you know Om ji who was in Bigg Boss?

I don't know any Gaudiya Vaishnavas.
(if he is one)

Gaudiya Vaishnava but was a devotee of Ramakrishna (which is totally unusual)
@NogShine lol yes
@KrishnaShweta I don't watch Big Boss but I have heard of some Guru who ate meat in that show when he called himself vegetarian
@NogShine I guess you know Jeeyar Swami atleast lol

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury True.

@KrishnaShweta Is he the one who claimed who hit Salman Khan?
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury What are you talking? O.0 which jeeyar swami?

5:43 PM
@KrishnaShweta ah so he was the one XD
@NogShine There are 2 Jeeyar Swamis?

@NogShine I don't know about Salman but he slapped a woman in NEWS channel.

@KrishnaShweta wt....why?

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury A Jeeyar is a Sri Vaishnava Tridandi sanyasi. There are many jeeyars.
To be specific, they will have a name before Jeeyar swami.

@NogShine Oh...I mean...Chinna Jeeyar

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury *swami. Yes.

5:47 PM
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury I don't remember.

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Did you forget that I recommended to listen to His speeches?

@NogShine I am having language problems in His speeches

Dec 5 '17 at 18:51, by Nog Shine
Have you ever heard of HH Chinna Jeeyar Swami? Or seen a pic of Him?

Yeah I remember but I'm trying to find His English speeches

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury There are some English ones too. Is English problematic?

5:49 PM
I only found His Bhagavatam discourses in English only
Lol no English is virtually my first language @NogShine
Btw I heard in some English News articles He was an atheist before?

So what made Him a theist?
@NogShine Agnostic?

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Getting an acharya.

@NogShine That's similar to Swami Chinmayananda
Very interesting cases when atheists convert to theists

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury No, the family is traditional but in their teenage, they studied many books regarding communism and similar ropics and it created many doubts in them. So, they were kind of atheistic.
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury It is different.

5:54 PM
Well Swami Chinmayananda also got an acharya: Swami Sivananda
And what about Vellukudi Krishnan?

There were no one to clear the doubts. But one fine day, they met their acharya Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy and it cleared many doubts. They travelled with their acharya like a normal one. Actually, there was a relationship between them. But Chinna Jeeyar swamyji didn't knew it. It was revealed later to them.

@NogShine What was the relationship??

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury In the purvashrama, HH Pedda jeeyar swami is grandfather of HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji.

@NogShine Purvashrama meaning?

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury before becoming sannyasi.

6:01 PM
@NogShine Yeah true. One thing I find hard to understand some of the Sanskrit words.

HH Pedda Jeeyar Swami was maternal grandfather of HH Chinna Jeeyar Swami.
@TheLittleNaruto in the questions? Ask the posters to translate them. No mercy.

@NogShine Adbhutam! Adbhutam!

During my primaries I was really good in Sanskrit, I used to give speeches in Sanskrit in 26th January/15th August :P

This is so interesting!

@TheLittleNaruto great

6:03 PM
@NogShine No, in general. It's been ages that I touched Sanskrit at all.

@TheLittleNaruto I'll find your head master and show this transcript to them.

Such cases are so unusual!

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury If god wills, there is nothing unusual.

@NogShine of course, I don't want to be praised lol, But I was apple of my teacher's eyes.

@NogShine Its totally a miracle! Jai Shriman Narayana!!

6:05 PM
@TheLittleNaruto Just note that I am being funny. Don't take it seriously. I am lazy to find smileys now. :D

@NogShine No worries :)
FYI, my school was Saraswati Shishu/Vidya Mandir
If you know this school chain.
Mantra chanting was our daily routine in morning/lunch/after school

@TheLittleNaruto Yes, you said it in the past. As you know Ramayana and Mahabharata already, answering would be easy. I will give you some sites and the resource post. It would be a piece of cake to answer.
