Why Gods and Goddesses (Devas and Devis) have their own vehicles, mounts or vahanas which comprise various types of animals and birds? Do they have some physical significance?

Q: Like Vish and Shiv have reverse spelling and opposite effects, does Sita and Sati have some reason behind their names?

As per our Vedic literature, Vish (Vishnu) means creator and Shiv (Shiva) means evil destroyer. I was wondering similar word-meaning similarity between Sati and Sita. Is there any historical evidence for their names as like in Vish & Shiv? Thanks

@Pandya Bhakti Yoga is a difficult path which requires also doing Jnana Yoga and Karma Yoga. It basically involves the complete set of teachings found in the Bhagavad Gita. Sharanagati, on the other hand, is a simple act of surrender to Vishnu. It is by far the easiest path to Moksha.

And what about concept of God for it? (something like this?)

@Pandya Well, views about the nature of Brahman don't vary according to the path like Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Sharanagati, etc. They vary based on what philosophy you subscribe to, like Advaita, Dvaita, Visistadvaita, etc.

@Pandya Now if you want to know the nature of Brahman according to Visistadvaita, Brahman is Saguna rather than Nirguna, and Brahman is characterized by the six Kalyana Gunas, Jnana, Bala, Aishwarya, Virya, Shakti, and Tejas.

@Pandya By the way, in order to perform Sharanagati you don't need Jnana or Bhakti or anything. You just need to do a single act of surrender.
