Where are references of sutras , dhyAna or mantras (or related) for worshiping Kubera in the right way to incorporate him in the daily puja?

Recently I was doing ritual of Varsi at Haridhwar on banks of river Ganga and Shivalinga was there, suddenly one snake appeared from river and we saw him, we have to bypass him and then we could continue the ritual. Is it considered bad or good?
