Q: Does Arjuna ever ask Krishna to prove Himself?

happybuddhaIn the Gita, Arjuna (or any of the others) doesn't ask for Krishna a proof of His supremacy/divinity/Godliness. He just assumes Krishna to be divine and correct. Is there a dialogue (chapter and verse please) where Arjuna questions the authenticity of Krishna ? When exactly does Arjuna come to b...

Happy Dussehra

2:07 AM
@SwiftPushkar I have one discussion. I think Dussehra should be tomorrow, not today. What I know from Panchanga is: Whichever tithi falls on sunrise is considered for whole the day, is it right? If yes then yesterday was Ashtami, today is Navami and tomorrow there is Dashami.

which scripture has this Sat Chit ananda mantra? youtube.com/watch?v=aK7HtECs3YU

Akshay Kumar S|| Aum Sat Chit Ananda Parabrahma Purushothama Paramatma Sri Bhagavati Sametha Sri Bhagavate Namaha || What's the source of this Mantra?

I was searching too but have not found any source

3:20 AM
@AkshayKumarS It is Kalki Bhagavan mantra. I think it is not from scriptue.

@NogShine - any answers moved to question :P

@AkshayKumarS It's chat and not comments ;)
@AkshayKumarS Heh, duplicate isn't bad.

@NogShine - yeah correct but just for fun I told. But let's see if I get proper reference from our visitors and team for this Mantra. You could also share that answer in question :) because why am saying is question would be wasted if everything is discussed here including reference

3:58 AM

@TriyugiNarayanMani @AkshayKumarS @KrishnaShweta Yes Happy dashahara to you also 💐

The event looks successful!

4:40 AM
@Pandya haha Welcome - Happy Vijayadashami

8 people are there. Indicating past 8 days of Navaratri

@SwiftPushkar I think you will play dandiya tonight, right?

@Pandya Yes , lets make the event interesting by sharing stories , experiences and celebrations in all our hometowns .

@SwiftPushkar Btw, have you seens the message I want to clear about which tithi should be considered for today?
@SwiftPushkar Good

@KrishnaShweta haha , yes , i played it for 5-6 days , but yesterday there was raining , and we have to wrap up all also today , so played for few min. only . BTW wht. abt. you.
@Pandya Yes , i will ask , and will let you know in few min.

4:44 AM
@Pandya Namaskar

I will be sharing some interesting images of different forms of devi mentioned in vedas from newspapers.

@SwiftPushkar Accha. In my state we play Bathukamma.

In Gujarat, especially in Saurashtra, different organisation called "Garabi Mandala" prepares girls for Traditional Garaba and there happens Garaba play. First child girls of around 7 years comes and play, then gradually bigger girls in increasing order of age comes in next Garaba and so on.

This is also time to ask you this question. @SwiftPushkar - Is Maya manifestation of Goddess Shakti?

@KrishnaShweta lovely 💐

4:47 AM
@RubelliteYakṣī Hello

But recently the trends of playing modern Ras in modern style in party plots isprevailing and traditionally becoming less.

@Pandya oh interesting.

@RubelliteYakṣī How are you dear?

@KrishnaShweta 🙏🌸🏵 Greetings and happy dussehra! 🏵🌸🙏

@NogShine is offline when needed

4:48 AM
@Pandya BTW what is difference BTW Garba and Dandiya?

@KrishnaShweta Wonderful. Listening to some temple music right now helps 😊 How are you?

@RubelliteYakṣī Happy Dussehra to you too!! :-)

The traditional practice of Garabi Mandala used to focus on quality preparation and audience used to do only watching it. And in todays practice no prepared candidates, anyone can join and play Garaba.

@Pandya Yes , got it.

@SwiftPushkar Garaba is certian pattern of devotional song. Dandiya refers to stick (playing instrument).

4:51 AM
@RubelliteYakṣī I'm fine, thanks. I just did some pooja arrangements and came here.

@AkshayKumarS Interesting question! It can be approached from multiple angles, I think

The dance on the Garba can be played without Dandiya (by clapping only) and Dandiya refers to striking sticks.
You know once Jethalal introduced Dandiya in one episode of Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chasmah

@Pandya I like that TV show so much.

@Pandya ohh so garaba is like a prayer .

Do you remember Garba andolan? :D @Pandya

4:55 AM
hi

@RubelliteYakṣī - waiting for answer in this special occasion about shakti

Hi @Akash.B

@SwiftPushkar same to you

@KrishnaShweta Yes, once one businessman fraud in selling and Mahila Mandala done that aandolan, right?
@Akash.B Explanation of Dandiya
@TriyugiNarayanMani Namaskar.

@Pandya Right!

@Pandya Dandiya?

5:04 AM
@SwiftPushkar English,please:)

@SwiftPushkar - I know to read Hindi but cant understand meaning. English?

@Pandya BTW i love these colorful dresses.
OK Guys .
The festival of Dussehra inspires us to abandon ten types of sins - anger, greed, attachment, jealousy, egoism, idleness, violence and theft.
4

Mmm

@Akash.B @AkshayKumarS Where are you both from ?

@SwiftPushkar I think attachment is the root of all of these

5:08 AM
I am from Chennai. @SwiftPushkar

@SwiftPushkar I am from Kerala

@RubelliteYakṣī Yes , its the power of Maya that binds us all to the worldly affairs.

@RubelliteYakṣī - dont be attached to the site too as it will trap you in Maya :P

Ok Both , i am from Pune Maharashtra .

@AkshayKumarS lol Funny, but true.

5:09 AM
@RubelliteYakṣī It 's very difficult to live without attachments

@Akash.B - that's why you need to follow Sattva path which is bit easier to leave when we depart from the body

@RubelliteYakṣī And its the goddess (Shakti) who is in the form of Maya , also removes this attachment from us.

@Akash.B It has gotten easier with time.
I think the first hurdle is fear. But as you allow things to fall away, other things fall away more easily

Now, we are Nav users for Navaratri event

@KrishnaShweta BTW your DP is grt. Its the perfect DP for you .

5:11 AM
@Akash.B - yes its difficult to live without attachments and that's why detach from Maya and attach with Brahman.

@SwiftPushkar Thank you :-)

I think my most difficult attachment is to understanding... desire for self-knowledge

@Pandya haha , tenth is Parabrahma who is omnipresent , and the devi herself in all of us.

and understanding of the Universe

@RubelliteYakṣī - to understand Universe, know and "realize" atman. Moment you realize Atman - Universal knowledge automatically comes. Because we're not seperate from Universe
Welcome @TheDestroyer

5:13 AM
Destroyer has entered and destroyed our numerical symbolism XD

Namaskaram!

@RubelliteYakṣī Yes , Shakti is the force behind all the activities of this universe , and She is also called as Vishnu-Maya . In Shakta tradition she is the creator-sustainer-Destroyer of the universe .

@AkshayKumarS Yes, this is exactly as I think and act. But I have attachment to desire to know that
deeply

@TheDestroyer Welcome BRO - Happy Vijayadashami - 💐

@SwiftPushkar - Yes without Shakti we cant succeed in this world. And also, Without Shakti's grace we cant know Shiva.

5:15 AM
@RubelliteYakṣī Lol.. Devi as Kaali is Destroyer.. It's Her will..I'm just a instrument for her cause.. 😀
@SwiftPushkar Same to you 😁

@RubelliteYakṣī - Knowing alone not enough - not going to take us to Brahma Gyana. Practical realization alone will help us in realizing the supreme Parabrahma.

Vidyuta (lightning goddess ) from Atharva-Veda Vidyut Suktam.

@AkshayKumarS I mean both mental understanding and subjective, experiential understanding

Has anyone looked at this site? vishwaamara.com

5:18 AM
@SwiftPushkar nice painting.

@TheDestroyer is silent

@Pandya I just started watching it. Very good 😆

@TheDestroyer Its from our local news paper series about vedic goddesses .

@TheDestroyer No idea. And today morning the roads are so clear and peaceful. Lol

@TheLittleNaruto Agree!

Really missing Tezz
@TriyugiNarayanMani Hi bro.. How are you?

Goddess of Water AAP आप: Rig-Veda 1.23

5:30 AM
On this day would like to share another saying of #Tamil "Thaikum Pillayaukum ulla uravu Thoppul kodi uravu" = Mother-child in womb relation = Navel.

Real meaning of that saying is = through Navel, Devi's Shakti is bringing up the child via Navel and the Child in womb will be in OM shape. Have anyone noticed that?

@TheDestroyer Yeah , lets call him .

@Pandya I have no idea dude. Lol

@NogShine - Namaskaram

The event co-organizer has come

@SwiftPushkar He must be having one month holidays for Dasara IIRC

5:31 AM
Shailaputri - She is the daughter of the mount Himalayas.
Brahmacharini - (She ramains brhamcharini during tapas.
Chandraghanta ( She wears moon moon in necklace )
Kushmanda (the creator of the universe)
Skanda Mata - Son of Kartikeya or Skanda
Katyayani (The daughter of sage Kātyāyana, who incarnated to help the Devas)
Kalaratri (black as night, destroyer of Kālī)
Gauri (the wife of Lord Shiva, doing great penance)
Siddharatri (Provider of Siddhis, giver of mystic powers)

@Pandya meh

@SwiftPushkar This is Aap?? I was recently doing some reading about her and cultural comparisons to Apsu/Tiamat in Mesopotamia. Very interesting. Thank you for sharing these!!

@SwiftPushkar Saraswati Avahan on Moola Nakshatra is considered as important day here.

@TheDestroyer Yeah , i remember our discussion @Tezz

So, who is celebrating today and who is celebrating tomorrow?

5:32 AM
@NogShine Yo!

@RubelliteYakṣī You are welcome , i am also having some info. about her from newspaper article .

@AkshayKumarS I do not see it. Perhaps I have too much fat (q.q )

@NogShine I am going to celebrate today and tomorrow also , 😀

@RubelliteYakṣī - there are so many, for what you relpied to me

@AkshayKumarS how can I help?

5:34 AM
@NogShine Today. What about you?

@NogShine - well event organizer was missing when even started. So was wondering

@AkshayKumarS You mean nourishing or bringing out?

@SwiftPushkar I love the balance of opposites referenced with Kalaratri/Gauri

I have in my phone some photos of pandals but they are too big in size to share . Unlike West Bengal.
@RubelliteYakṣī Yes

@AkshayKumarS mods are around. So, no problem.

5:36 AM
@TheDestroyer Nourishing the child in womb through her Shakti. So a mother-child relation is navel. Here mother refers to Devi

@SwiftPushkar I think persian or urdu "Ab" is from Sanskrit "Aap". For example, Prayaga region of UP is Daob. Do+Ab = region of two waters (rivers), Ganga Yamuna region

@KrishnaShweta Same.

@AkshayKumarS If you click ⮢ on the far left of the message, the chat will show you
It was about ॐ navel

@TheDestroyer Yes , hindi/urdu words are taken from sanskrit only , even english is not exception .

5:38 AM
@RubelliteYakṣī - Our ears shape is also OM kara shape. If you look at child through scan in womb, will be in OM shape agsinst gravity

@SwiftPushkar is quoting and quoting and quoting. 😁

@AkshayKumarS Yes. Child in womb looks like 3 and can be inferred as Om.

@NogShine haha thats the event .

@SwiftPushkar I think is ap with a short a. Is it?

5:39 AM
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury DurgaPujatattva (दुर्गापूजातत्त्व, book is in bangali , you can read it its over there on archieve.org , yet to find english though .

I have one question: sometimes I found that some equates goddess with Shakti or Maya or Prakriti.

@SwiftPushkar I'll check

Do deva and devi manifestations have Sukhma Sharira? @TheDestroyer

@NogShine He's reading many scriptures. He became Avadhani. 😊

@NogShine yes , my message reminds us of aam aadmi party 😁

@TheDestroyer - New born child after coming out will be breathing through secret channel inside our body which is behind our upper palate tongue. Until the skull over head fully develops and closes, the child is still in touch with Devi.

@TheDestroyer I think he is blessed with Devi Sarasvati :)

@Pandya I think Devas have but not sure about Trimurties. I think it also depends on philosophy one follows.

@TheDestroyer lol. He will learn Telugu soon too.

@AkshayKumarS Very cool. Om = The sound & ears for listening

5:41 AM
@Pandya Actually i think they are present in Sukshma Rupa itself , we can see them with tapas , yoga , bhakti etc.

@NogShine Avadhani is Sanskrit word.

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury hello

@Pandya Yes. Sri Sri Sri Pushkaracharya..
2

There is an article also about Avadhani , but i am not aware of its full meaning . @NogShine @TheDestroyer
Avadhānaṃ is a literary performance popular from the very ancient days in India. Avadhānaṃ originated as a Sanskrit literary process and is revived by Telugu poets in modern times. It involves the partial improvisation of poems using specific themes, metres, forms, or words. The true purpose of an Avadhanam event thus is the showcasing, through entertainment, of superior mastery of cognitive capabilities - of observation, memory, multitasking, task switching, retrieval, reasoning and creativity in multiple modes of intelligence - literature, poetry, music, mathematical calculations, puzzle solving...

@TheDestroyer Avadhanam is only specific to Telugu. It originated in Telugu. Later taken to Sanskrit and Hindi.

5:44 AM
@SwiftPushkar ok. one philosophical question: we know that the true self Atman doesn't have any gender. Do sukhsma Sharira have? /cc @KeshavSrinivasan

But it didn't work in Hindi.

@NogShine No, long a

@NogShine Yes , the word avadhana is also there in marathi , but very diff. general meaning (which i cant remember right now) 😀

@NogShine it's about poems?

5:45 AM
@NogShine It is Sanskrit word taken into Telugu
reverse can't happen

@Pandya yes.

@TheDestroyer WOW , grt. Will read aft. event :-)

@TheDestroyer I'm talking about prakriya.

@SwiftPushkar Yes. It means attentiveness in general. But it has special meaning in Telugu it seems.

5:47 AM
@RubelliteYakṣī oh! ap means water. So I thought it's ap.

@TheDestroyer LOL , not acharya , but chatra (student) छात्र :-)
@TheDestroyer yeah yeah , in marathi also the same meaning .

What did I miss then?

@TheDestroyer Good! I remember:
3
A: Which Sanskrit dictionaries are people on this site using?

The DestroyerI use spokensanskrit.de, Andhrabharati Sanskrit Dictionary and Monier-Williams Sanskrit-English Dictionary. I use spokensanskrit.de for faster look up and go for andhrabharati if i don't get sastifactory meaning on spokensanskrit.de. I use Monier-Williams Dictionary to know meanings of Dhatus (...

@Pandya It has Wilson Sanskrit-English Dictionary (2nd Ed. 1832

@NogShine Yes, precisely. And this has been transmitted all over the world as water or river/stream

5:49 AM
It breaks the word into possible Dhatus

@KrishnaShweta :O

Goddess Ratri (रात्रि) Rig-Veda 10.127

@Pandya yes, I remember a marjana mantra during Sandhyavandanam. It starts with Aapah punantu prithiviim...

5:56 AM
जलं, अंबु-अंभस् /n./, उदकं, वारि; पयस् /n./, तोयं, सलिलं, नीरं, पानीयं, वार् /f./, अप् /f./ (pl.) पाथस् /n./;
