@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury This is the stotra composed by Adi Shankaracharya named 'bhaja Govindam'. ^ Listen to it. It is very nice. I hope your doubts about Gita and Adi Shankaracharya will also be clarified by doing it.

Q: How does Prana and Apana fuse outside the body?

TezzIn the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, Lord Bhairava states: वायुद्वयस्य सम्घट्टाद् अन्तर् वा बहिरन्ततः । योगी समत्वविज्ञानसमुद्गमनभाजनम् ।। From the fusion of both Vayus (Prana and Apana), inside or outside the body, the yogi attains equlibrium and becomes fit for the proper manifestation of...

Q: Can I as an atheist still be Hindu?

KidDoesCodingAnd HasNoFriendsI am an atheist(not going in detail about that one), and I heard people say that "Hinduism accepts you no matter what". So that must mean I am a Hindu. Great. But here is the problem (other than being a paradox saying everyone is hindu), Pretty much NOONE accepts me >:). In my family, not hindu, ...

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Haha. I posted it not the Hinduism bot.
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury In Bhaja Govindam Adi Shankara says "Bhagavad Gita Kinchita Dhita
Ganga Jalalava Kanika Pita
Sahrdapi yena Murari Samarca
Kriyate Tasya Yamena na carca"
and "Geyam Gita Nama Sahasram Dhyeyam ShriPati RupaMajashram"

Q: Why did rAmAnuja disobey his guru?

Rakesh Joshi Thirukottiyur Nambi agreed to part with the Mantra and its meaning. But before that he got a promise from Ramanauja. As per the promise, Ramanuja should not tell this to anyone as this mantra will take a person who listens to it directly to Vaikuntam and if it is told out to others Ram...

Q: What does the term in "the playing fields" as used in tbe Bhagadavida Gita really mean?

Earthquake'Kelly Rune'ShineThere is a verse in the Bhagadavida Gita that refers to the earth world realm and it's 3rd dimensional limitations emplaced there as "the playing fields". I have a few ideas as-to-what what this may really mean, but would like to know what others say and what the general overall consensus is.

Q: Why Ramacharyulu priests take Tīrthamu with left hand?

user12795Hindu philosopher told Ramacharyulu priests take Tīrthamu with left hand. That is why we shouldn't take foot blessings from Ramacharyulu priests. Why they take Tīrthamu with left hand?

Q: Do the Vedas say that Indra can grant moksha?

Surya Kanta Bose ChowdhuryAccording to the History teacher in my school, Indra can grant moksha according to the Vedas. Now this seems very appalling to me since Indra is not the supreme God. So is she right?

Q: Who/What were the sources that Valmiki referred to when compiling his Ramayan

Q: Is Indra of the Vedas the rain god Indra?

Surya Kanta Bose ChowdhuryAfter see the answer here, I have a feeling that the Indra of the Vedas is not the rain god Indra we have in the Puranas. Do any verses in the Vedas show the Indra mentioned there is the same as the rain-god?

@NogShine The Vedas are killing me. How can Indra be supreme???😭😭😭

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury It is based on interpretation.
He definitely is a powerful God and king of all the worlds.
Do you know there are 23 interpretations on the Vedas?
Actually, the rain God is Parjanya. Not Indra

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury According to Sayana, famous commentator on Vedas and who belonged to Advaita Sampradaya, says at highest level any God can be Brahman. So, there are two Indras and it depends on realities. For a Indra bhakta, Indra is Supreme Brahman.
But for others, these statements are just statements and don't mean anything
Arthavãda = mere glorification

@SreeCharan Bhagavan is synonymous to Vishnu and Iswara is synonymous to Shiva. So, his doubt is when Vishnu/Krishna is there, why there are other Gods? — The Destroyer ♦ May 17 at 3:54

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury Understanding Vedas and Upanishads may not be easy for you. You can now focus on Hari Bhakti and your studies.

5:54 PM
@TheDestroyer Adi Shankaracharya interpreted Ishvara and Bhagavan as same.

@NogShine For Adi Shankara, everything is same.

Also, after reading this answer, I got another doubt.. did any commentator or scholar say that Bhagavd Gita is spoken by Shiva?

@NogShine Yes. Abhinavagupta of KS
He didn't say Shiva. But interpreted Krishna as form of Shiva and it was Shiva as per Him

Explicitly as Shiva like the answer said..

Yes. Abinavagupta said. Don't remember exact verse. Rohit told me once.

6:10 PM
@TheDestroyer Totally weird stuff...I have never been this confused.
@NogShine 23 interpretations???

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury There are many interpretations to the Vedas.

@NogShine 23...am I supposed to read all of them?!

No need.
Who has read Vedas here? Even one interpretation?

@NogShine So what are the 23 interpretations?

Reading them online is not a good thing and asking normal people doubts is also a bad thing. They will confuse you more and more rather than clarifying you.

6:15 PM
@NogShine btw you don't believe right that the Indra in the Vedas is the rain God?

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury I heard in a logical debate between Hindus and Christians.

@NogShine What did you hear?

The point was made by Vedic scholars. So, that needs not be verified again.
@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury that there are 23 interpretations till date.

@NogShine How would a Sri-Vaishnava interpret these Indra supreme verses?

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury The rain God is Parjanya. Indra and Parjanya are different devatas.

6:23 PM
@NogShine But the Vedas say Indra is the slayer of Vrita. Puranas say the same.

@SuryaKantaBoseChowdhury yes. but didn't you ask for the rain God?

@NogShine Yeah so are the Vedas glorifying both the rain god and the Brahman Indra?
@TheDestroyer btw I thought Adi Shankar's said Vishnu, Shiva, Devi, Surya and Ganesha are the only forms of Saguna Brahman

Q: Did women have inheritance in the Vedas?

Amrith BalaguhanSome claim that Women had no inheritance in the Vedas. I will quote their claims below: Krishna Yajur Veda 6.5.8.1 Women are powerless, have no inheritance, and speak more humbly than even a bad man. Baudhayana Dharma Shastra 2.2.3.46 The Veda declares, ‘Therefore women are considered to be des...
