12:06 AM
wait, so now is 2:06 CEST and in one hour it's gonna be 2:06 CEST
should I fear anal probing aliens or is this perfectly normal?

Pray hard its the sort who use lube, and clean betwen probings.

@TildalWave I dont know if you need to fear them

12:29 AM
what am I supposed to do then, shoot rainbows at them?

Bend over and take it like a good experimental test subject?

@TildalWave poop on em. war of the worlds dictates that they should die immediately to human germs

@Ohnana: What if the entire point of probing your ass is to get samples of earth ass germs to make vaccines?

@JourneymanGeek POOP ON THE SCIENTISTS

12:46 AM
THAT GIVES THEM MORE POOP SAMPLES

you're obviously not ass-spraying them enouch

Chat.... Got weird.

for some reason, I find that comforting

@DavidFreitag :D

@Ohnana Reminds me of that episode of South Park
@TildalWave Is today daylight savings?

1:19 AM
ayup

11 hours later…
11:51 AM
hey @Simon this would be useful to you, I'm sure... reddit.com/r/Showerthoughts/comments/3q41ne/…

1 hour later…
1:14 PM
@AviD A Windows computer does not change its clock upon entering/exiting DST; it changes its timezone (and that's arguably even worse).

@ThomasPornin Isnt that supposed to be?
like, i.e., I was in Amsterdam +2, timezone changed to Amsterdam +1
isn't that the whole idea behind DST?

2:13 PM
@ThomasPornin oh, I know.
wait, are you saying that *nix based computers DON'T do that?

Just learned- Borneo is home to the world's smallest bear. The tree-climbing Sun Bear
Sunday afternoon Discovery channel ftw

2:57 PM
@RоryMcCune Nah, it gets unfunny when someone abuses it.

@RоryMcCune dammit roro...

1 hour later…
4:01 PM
@AviD last rule incursion 15:00 25/10/2015 GMT previous rule incursion 14:06 23/10/2015 BST, previous rule incursion 14:00 22/10/2015 BST

@Simon Sure I wasn't suggesting you use them all at once!
just suggesting you got a little variety in your rekt game

@RоryMcCune damn, was it really around 14:00 again?

@AviD yeah when I account for the clock shift.. a pattern is emerging..

only reason it was 15:00 instead of 14:00 is cuz we just changed the clocks, will take me a couple of days to adjust.
but hot damn I'm consistent.
hey wait, I skipped a day!
oh damn, it was saturday, I was offline :-(

well gotta have a day off I guess

hey @RоryMcCune didja catch the Doctor Who / Game of Thrones crossover?

4:07 PM
@AviD the two episodes with Maise Williams, indeed
watched the second one last night
was good

as did I

and looks like she might be a recurring character

thought it was pretty excellent, for the most part
@RоryMcCune that would be cool
she seemed to have been a tad inspired from some of her co-characters from GoT...

yeah, could well be interesting... I was half-thinking she might be the next companion

@RоryMcCune heard the internet rumours

4:08 PM
there are Internet rumours?

lol
I liked the Cap'n Jack reference... hopefully that means he will be coming back soon, too
oops NO SPOILERS nothing to see here, move along

that would be a really cool cross-over

oh hello! IMDB lists maisie as appearing in 3 episodes... so far

oooh

after the zygon arc
I do like when characters call him on his running away
kinda 4th wall, if ya know what I mean

4:14 PM
yeah they've done that a bit this series, IIRC the bit with the guitar a couple of episodes back was quite 4th wally

"ax fight" heh

4:44 PM
lol @RoryAlsop remember Adam Ant? Havent even remembered his name in a couple of decades, just came up on the radio...
they must know I'm still looking at code from that decade...

1 hour later…
5:52 PM
aaand now I'm listening to Stand And Deliver

6:32 PM
@Lighty DST is supposed to change the mapping from atomic time to legal time, not to pretend that you move by 1000 km twice a year.
E.g. if you have a certificate that expires on February 24th, at 14:30:00, and look at the expiration date with Windows' certificate manager, then the hour will be displayed as "15:30:00" if you look at it during summer.
Because the OS assumes that if you are in the EDT time zone in August, then surely you will still be in that time zone in February...
This can incur some strange effects, especially since .NET's calendar classes have been fixed, so date processing can have a +/- 1 hour jitter depending on whether the implementation relies on .NET's code or on the underlying Win32 API.

Notification by ovid which he then deleted: #483.
WHYYYYYYYYYY?
It's a 2012 answer on a question which is closed.

7:01 PM
@Simon Also that link still exists, I used it today!
FFS 1 second of googling would have found the link

7:35 PM
@AviD nice.
Did you know my singer's ex-wife made Adam Ant a cool hat? ;-)

@RoryAlsop heh, is that a euphemism?

erm...nope
she's a milliner

she stood and delivered?

@TildalWave no silly, it means she's really rich

@AviD for the silly hat you silly hat

7:40 PM
well she could afford it, if she was a millinare

@RoryAlsop is that a euphamism?

erm...nope
:-)

@AviD not as much as those having billiards

it's a surprise no-one has sugested "Is that a Euphamism" on Meta.Sec.SE memes post
3

7:44 PM
@TildalWave is that an euphemism?

heheh
could be, didn't see it tho
but you called it so now I guess it is
billiard kinda sounds like a portmanteau of billion and milliard
heck not kinda, it does

@RоryMcCune is that choice of song because I mentioned the Ants, or because of Maisie Williams?

8:07 PM
@AviD bit of both, really

but were you thinking of that song yesterday?

8:24 PM
Looks like our friends at Code Golf need a lesson about terms:

Q: Hash a string with itself!

Thomas WHash a string with itself Your goal is to hash a string with itself by replacing each character in the original string with the one before it, starting with the first character and wrapping around. Here are some examples to show what I mean: 1st example: Input: program Output: apgopra How: Pr...

@Simon it actually is a form of a hash, just not a good one.
also the "with itself" is the problematic part of the phrase.

1 hour later…
10:00 PM
I need a game that has absolutely no story where I can blow things up

@DavidFreitag Just Cause 2 has some story, but it's nonsense. ANd the main focus of the game is to make stuff go boom.
Also: The story is ignorable.

@Arperum I have 250 hours played on that game on steam

@DavidFreitag That's a couple.

Plus the hours I played it offline while I was sharing my account with a few people
It's safe to say I played the shit out of that game

@DavidFreitag SO you need a new game to (ab)use?

10:07 PM
@Arperum well, at least until JC 3 comes out anyway.

@DavidFreitag WHen does that happen again? I'm too lazy to look for it.

@Arperum Dec, 1, 2015. Apparently.

@DavidFreitag Oh, that means I have ~1 month to finish up afterbirth. (BoI:rebirth expansion that is released next week)

@Arperum I bought that, and I find it impossible.
And I've played all of the dark souls games

@DavidFreitag Nah, it isn't. (I 100%'d rebirth)
I haven't succeeded in 100% the original yet though, the new achievements linked to the recently added hardmode are bloody impossible.

10:16 PM
Dig or Die looks like it will be a lot of fun
lol, it took less than a second to download and install
