@Dɑvïd @SteveTaylor did the hard work of getting the second question out. I just happened to be reading this book which has a section dealing with Cush in the book of Zephaniah, which addressed his question and provoked mine.
My favorite question generating technique, btw, is to question the assumptions of the people I'm reading - then I hope nobody responds by quoting that author. :)
