@Sarah hermeneutics.stackexchange.com/a/8570/2873 Please just tell me how this comment is incorrect. Noah was 599 years old at the start of the flood. If it’s accepted that Shem was 500 years younger (per Gen 5:32), Shem would have been 99 at the start of the flood; 2 years later he would have been beyond the 100 years old at 101. (Gen 5:32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.) Thanks.

@JohnMartin It may not be incorrect. However, not putting all the pieces together and simply working from the information that Noah was 600 years old and in his 600th year of life, from a traditional perspective, another possibility is that it was on his 600th birthday.

Q: How did you find our site?

Jon EricsonI'm so excited to find out that people have discovered our site via our existing questions addressing their actual problems! That's what our site is all about. Even better, people who get good answers sometimes feel a duty to reciprocate, which often brings in even more good answers. Often the...

@Helios @Helios, sorry to see you are going.

@Sarah i have already deleted my account

@Helios sorry to hear you have gone. You have I think a certain time in which you can reverse that don't you?

i doubt it

@Helios May I ask in what arena here you were preached at? Was it in the comments, answers, chat?

all 3, mostly in comments

8:26 PM
I am just looking to see if I can find your posts.
Wow, you really are gone!
What did you post about?

i posted only about historical and scientific points

I see. I think your posts remain even though not under your name. I would be interested in reading them if you are not uncomfortable linking me to your favorites.

@Helios I will read it now. Meanwhile, were you always under that name, or another--I ask only because I do not recognize it and wondered if I contributed to you difficulties with the forum.

former name: Amaterasu

8:33 PM
@Helios Ah, yes, we did converse briefly. I never did hear the rest of your story.

i have to go soon... it is 6:30am and i have to head off to work soon

@Helios OK. You may not be comfortable sharing with me anyway. It was a pleasure to have met you. Sorry things did not go so well for you here and that I am too late in offering my sentiments.
@Helios I actually thought of you the other day. I was going to ask if there is anything physically different in the atmosphere, the world, etc., that might make the 7th day more restful than the other 6 days. I thought if anyone would have insight into this it would be you.

@Sarah nothing really, it's a cultural thing - for example, many countries the 6th and 7th days are just normal days... certainly for a lot of people

@Helios I see, so there is no observable difference in the world itself between that day and others. If people all rested on the same day, how would that affect the world physically?

it wouldn't
the economies and such would take a hit, but the Earth physically would not be any different
many people work on the 7th day

8:50 PM
@Helios Ok, I was musing about that the other day and could not even imagine where or how I could begin to research such things. I thought of you.
@Helios Is the seventh day connected with any physical cycle of the universe?

@Sarah no, it is a human construct

@Helios Is there any cycle of 7 in the universe?

nope

@Helios My husband needs to use the computer, so I have to go. Thank you for your reflections. You probably saved me hours of searching! I appreciate it. Perhaps we shall see you around the library. Blessings!

have a great day
