Honestly, I think the next little bit of funding should be on several (cheap) meters from Harbor Freight. They are terrible, but would give you better feedback on what is really happening. For example, saying you drew 30A from a 20A breaker for a minute or two is much less misleading than the way you phrase it as "I drew 3.8kW from a 2.4kW breaker"
