all these crazy anecdotes exist that make people have these wild arguments about completely bogus stuff

like people saying that Nikon's new 36mp FF camera will far outreselve the lens

can't say for certain how Nikon optics are, but they are at least comparable to canon

and I know Canon lenses resolve enough detail for an 18mp APS-C

pixel-pitch wise, thats about 46.7mp FF

when you tell people that, and even give them the BASIC math that demonstrates it

they STILL don't believe! Its truly mindboggling.

@jrista yeah, one of the more interesting things about the D800 to me is that it's 15MP in DX crop mode

pretty expensive camera to use just in DX mode, but that makes it easier for someone who's invested in DX lenses (like the 17-55 or some of the wide angles) to buy

@EvanKrall I saw those...the noise is interesting on those shots....looks larger than a single pixel in most cases...almost like grain. Makes me wonder if they were processed in some way.

but most raw processors do a bit of nr by default

I doubt I'll reach 20MB at a time but I'll put a check in as well

I guess we need to figure out what the ideal lead time is. We don't want it to be so long that the theme loses steam, but not too short that people complain about not having time to prepare.

there is a lot of people over the last year I wish I had a card to give to though

yeah, there are plans to someday have just general business-card-sized site cards (no personal contact info, just the name, URL and site description) for every graduated site, but jin and sean are so busy with other things (like site designs!) that it's probably going to be a while before those all happen
