Q: Double slash in URL to user profile in featured photos block

sharptoothI open Photo SE front page and see the following: The arrow I added points to a link to photo author profile. In this case the link there is http://photo.stackexchange.com/users//9347/cody note the double slash between users and the user id number. It doesn't hurt - the link "works" just f...

@jrista @MikeW @JohnCavan Hey there Photography mods. Could any of you please migrate photo.stackexchange.com/questions/83553/… to Graphic Design? It's a better fit at ours than here at yours. Thanks!

@user3450548: http://photo.stackexchange.com/questions/83553/is-there-an-hack-that-could-allow-me-to-print-with-only-cyan-using-my-rgb-printe?noredirect=1#comment144196_83553
- convert to BW using any method you'd like (desaturation is the easiest);
- switch the mode from RGB to CMYK (`Image->Mode`), use any suggested profile;
- use channel mixer with this preset: https://filebin.net/jo7c43b6npagjo7c
- disable colour management in your printer settings completely
- print.

2:09 PM
@EuriPinhollow I'm giving it a try :)

@user3450548 The tonality of the image will depend on the profile which you used upon switching to CMYK. If you have issue with tonality, experiment with them.

@EuriPinhollow it seems the printed material still contain traces of magenta and yellow

Did you disable the colour management? It can be tricky.

@EuriPinhollow yes in the canon advanced color management to none
but in this case i have to use photoshop manages the colors

Nooo.
@user3450548 You should set up "Printer manages colours" in PS.
The should be no colour management at all.

2:22 PM
so no color management both in photoshop and printer ?

@user3450548 Yes.
@user3450548 This is why you may have issues with tonality, you are aiming at no colour management.

@EuriPinhollow ok just trying..
@EuriPinhollow it takes a bit of time because i have to scan back the printed material to check the color printeds

no prob

@EuriPinhollow sadly colors are still printed, gimme a min and i will show you the whole images

Just give me a crop< I am tight on traffic.
I cannot be 100% sure that orinter will use C only, it's just a workaround which I expect to work.

2:40 PM
@EuriPinhollow there is everything but you can click the image you need to inspect: postimg.org/gallery/2kijqjddc

Ok then. Try another thing: let the image be in RGB, but use channel mixer and set red channel: 0,0,0, green channel: 33,33,33, blue channel: 33,33,33.
Then print it, again, with no colour management.

2:54 PM
@EuriPinhollow are you sure? with that color management it exits completely weird

3:15 PM
oh wait
@user3450548 I am not sure. Try inverting it before channel mixer.

@EuriPinhollow i will try with the same all cyan in "screen" mode
@EuriPinhollow this way seems clear! s21.postimg.org/yad1pmh9j/image.png
I'm trying now a scan in light blue
I mean.. i added a white layer on top of it to decrease a bit the density
This one also seems good only cyan mostly

3:35 PM
@user3450548 making it an answer then.

@EuriPinhollow but i'm not sure of the condition, i mean i tried removing the cymk profile aswell i also reprinted another one and by leaving all the color management off it renders full cyan ? why
i don't get how this is possible

@user3450548 Again, disabling printer colour management may be tricky. What's your printer model?

mx870
canon

Also, try another version of CMYK mixer: {0, 0, 0, 100; 0, 0, 0, 0; 0, 0, 0, 0}. I messed it, I left the 100 in black channel.

i think is the same once the color is flatterned
if u take a full black and put over it a new layer with cyan in screen mode the inked layer below becomes all cyan

3:45 PM
?
I mean, after converting to CMYK you'd better use this version to exclude black inks.

i don't think this could work

Are your dialogs different?

kinda but moving that slider is the same
the fully working procedure is rgb with #00FFFF
then print in full color management off
trying to print magenta and yellow only
ok
it works
if u take full color management off and you go for #00FFFF #FF00FF and #FFFF00 them are converted with cmy :D
in order to modulate the density you have to use white obviously
@EuriPinhollow it would be fun to check how this can work with some other printer i managed in past like the pro9000 and pro9500 with 8, 10 and 12 inks

4:09 PM
@user3450548 this would be unpredictable. Canon may pick any inks which they like. They will probably pick saturated ink for saturated regions and light ink for unsaturated regions.
You'd probably could not manage it deterministically.

4:42 PM
unless i do a huge amount of test and ink waste ahah no thanks
:)
