IIRC, the "this user only" install should work for a non-admin user, right?
I just learned that our IT is slowly taking away local admin rights from users. They're replacing it with some sort of central managed admin account on each machine.
It seems there's a new piece of software they're installing that creates the local admin account for each machine then updates the password for that account every 3 hours. Our IT people have to log into the software, look up the pwd for the machine they're connecting to, then login to the machine with its local admin account & pwd.
I get it, but... they forgot that we have people that travel a lot and if the laptop is not on the local network, the software can't change the admin pwd on the machine, so the pwd in the DB is not the pwd on the machine, and you can't go back to look up the old one.
