The other project is an Add-in that I design and manage. The projects that open, load the add-in, then uses the add-in to create instances of classes the add-in holds.

e.g.

set m_objSharePoint = application.run(addin, "create SharePoint class")

m_objSharePoint then hold an instance of the class from the addin

is there a way to use ternary operator with statements rather than return values?
I am going through a list of Foo with attributes Foo.ID and Foo.IntegerValue and summing the Foo.IntegerValue in a dictionary keyed by the different Foo.ID so in the foreach(var foo in List<Foo>) loop I thought I could use the ternary operator like so: fooDict.ContainsKey(foo.ID) ? fooDict[foo.ID] += foo.IntegerValue : fooDict.Add(foo.ID, foo.IntegerValue) but VS threw several different errors.
Or do I even need to manually check for key existence in C# as I would in VBA?

I hate the visual appearance of short if-else and especially when inside a foreach loop
partially dumb visual perfectionizing partially valid concern about code readability
I suppose the ternary operator with that mess is not necessarily too greatly readable either however
