hm yeah... the blocker was the db creds in web.config (and the commit history) IIRC. I am able to recover the source code by mounting the virtual disk, but my whole dev environment is dead until Hyper-V cooperates (which at this point is going to be a full rebuild of the server, which kills me).. open to ideas... I think I could put dev/local creds in web.config and then squash all commits and push to the repo.
Found the license keys, going to wipe the C: drive and full-reinstall the OS and fingers crossed Hyper-V service will want to start. And not going to domain-join and pretend to be an IT dept this time.

This is just for fun, the speed of this algorithm is surely much more than what I need, but it's really engaging and stimulating try to spot out every possible improvement.
