Interesting. Got an email from a online service, diffchecker.com - says they now can do a diff on an Excel spreadsheet.

@FreeMan that’s the smell of burnt homes in the morning.

Lol... My only question: What are ya' doin' on the roof?

@this is that similar to using the Inquire add-in?

@this you should be able to install IE8 on Win2k3 but that only begs the question why are you using 2003 at all? (I ask as someone who supports NT4 programs running on Win10)

4:16 PM
@BigBen IDK, never heard of that add-in. I only use diffchecker.com as a way to do a quick diff of stuff that aren't in git repo or whatever
@HackSlash ah, but how would you install IE8 from the machine? Hint: you can't.
had to mount a ISO with Firefox because I literally cannot get it online using IE6

Download this, transfer the file, install it. Let's be real here, a 2003 box should not be exposed to the internet at all. I hope you are only browsing local resources. microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20335

Got SO community ads fixed!
I checked with our ads team, @MathieuGuindon, and it looks like something broke on our end around 2 months ago, indeed, and it went unnoticed. Thanks for pointing it out; it should now be fixed :) — JNat ♦ 6 hours ago

@HackSlash yeah that was just me trying to get things done without the hassle of creating a ISO file to move the files so I can use a dropbox link to download the files i needed. Otherwise, it's a useless POS
The only reason I needed a 2003 box was to run SQL Server 2000.... :\

@this is an interesting article about how long it takes to compromise old unpatched systems: isc.sans.org/diary/Survival+Time+on+the+Internet/4721
@this and you can run SQL Server 2000 on Win10: youtube.com/watch?v=xKoS6VyBaKU

@this It comes pre-installed with Excel. Very useful for comparing differences between two files.

@HackSlash Cool to know - I knew SS2000 was long ago unsupported and wanted to use on a system that was supported which seemed to end with 2003 R2
besides it's a throwaway box so not too concerned
@HackSlash and to be honest I have no idea how one'd patch now that the update server is no longer function.
(short of manually downloading the SP which likely wont' be hosted by Microsoft anymore)

@this it's out of support. It doesn't matter if you installed all the patches, it's still vulnerable to EternalBlue which is a wormable vulnerability with multiple live attacks in the wild. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EternalBlue

fun times.

It's a super easy exploit. You could teach yourself how to use Metasploit by using that throwaway box you have set up. Once you see how easy it is, it will change your perspective on security. I highly recommend it.

you don't need to convince me. I have no interest in making it any more than a throwaway box.

> **What**
When an enum is declared within a worksheet. This can cause an Ambiguous name error if/when the worksheet is copied. I categorize this under Code Quality.

**Why**
When an enum is declared within a worksheet object and that worksheet is copied the enumeration is copied as well. This leads to an identical enum in two locations resulting in an Ambiguous name error.

**Example**
This code should trigger the inspection:

```vb
'Defined in a Worksheet
Public Enum Sheet1Enumerat
> The same issue would apply to Public UserDefinedType declarations in a worksheet.
10:14 PM
> This would be also true for any kind of class modules, not just the worksheet or any other document module, no?
> Correct. I bring this up since Worksheet modules can be copied without ever navigating to the VBIDE. This makes for very confused users when they never touched any code. What was previously working functionality attached to buttons on a Worksheet now barfs because compilation can't occur.
@IvenBach Because you deleted DefaultStyle.xaml when you didn't intend to: git diff --name-status earlierCommit..laterCommit.
Future-Iven telling Past-Iven how he eventually figured everything out: I screwed up as I learned. So much that I wanted to know how to fix my whoopsies and read the documentation that learned me how to.
