Refactored - ViewModel now only needs to implement INotifyPropertyChanged and IHandleValidationError interfaces, and the bindings still get wired-up in the View code-behind but I extracted a BindingManager helper object to hold the property & command bindings, ...I think it's ready for CR.

Q: Bulk Email Sending Using VBA Run Time Concern

MD Ismail Hosen I have written a code for my purpose to send bulk email dynamically (Name,Document,Expiry date,email address will be changed dynamically)..Everything is working fine but it take a approximately ( 4 Second/Mail sent for without using array and 2 sec / mail sent using array)...Any one know another...

More refactorings... now with value converters, and a fluent API for building an error formatter inline.

11:35 AM
Private Sub BindViewModelProperties()
    With BindingManager
        .BindPropertyPath ViewModel, "Validation.Message", Me.ValidationMessage1
        .BindPropertyPath ViewModel, "Validation.IsValid", Me.ValidationMessage1, "Visible", Converter:=InverseBooleanConverter.Default
        .BindPropertyPath ViewModel, "Instructions", Me.InstructionsLabel

        .BindPropertyPath ViewModel, "SourcePath", Me.PathBox, Validator:=New RequiredStringValidator, _
            ErrorFormat:=ValidationErrorFormat.Create(Me.PathBox) _
the BindingManager is actually a private property, not some global thing:
Private Type TView
    'IView state:
    ViewModel As ExampleViewModel

    'ICancellable state:
    IsCancelled As Boolean

    'Data binding helper dependency:
    BindingManager As IBindingManager
End Type

Private this As TView

'...

Private Property Get BindingManager() As IBindingManager
    Set BindingManager = this.BindingManager
End Property

1:37 PM
Private Sub BindViewModelProperties()
    With Bindings

        .BindPropertyPath ViewModel, "SourcePath", Me.PathBox, _
            Validator:=New RequiredStringValidator, _
            ErrorFormat:=AggregateErrorFormatter.Create( _
                ValidationErrorFormatter.Create(Me.PathBox) _
                    .WithErrorBackgroundColor _
                    .WithErrorBorderColor, _
                ValidationErrorFormatter.Create(Me.InvalidPathIcon).WithTargetOnlyVisibleOnError, _
                ValidationErrorFormatter.Create(Me.ValidationMessage1).WithTargetOnlyVisibleOnError)
and it does exactly what it looks like what it does :)
also .WithErrorBackgroundColor(vbYellow) would be valid

Q: Host-Agnostic Model-View-ViewModel Infrastructure

Mathieu GuindonI've written an API that unlocks some serious MVVM capabilities with VBA's MSForms UI framework. This is the complete code-behind for an example UserForm "view" - it's not the code under review, but since I'm 99% sure I won't have enough room to fit everything here I figure it gives a nice idea o...

> I keep getting a message in MS Access
that my path is invalid and to make sure it is spelled correctly. But the path it is giving isn't even a path on my computer.

In addition to my sincere appreciation, I'd provide a BAT tip for anyone that can solve within the next 4 hours

That said, this is not an issue with Rubberduck nor is this the venue for getting help with using Access. May I suggest opening a question on Stack Overflow or one of numerous Access firums ( UtterAccess or Bytes.com or Microsoft Answers or Access Programmers World )

As such, I will close the issue. Feel free to open an issue if

We’ve seen in UserForm1.Show what makes a Smart UI solution brittle, and how to separate the UI concerns from rest of the logic with the Model-View-Presenter (MVP) UI pattern. MVP works nicely with the MSForms library (UserForms in VBA), just like it does with its .NET Windows Forms successor. While the pattern does a good… Continue reading Model, View, ViewModel →
