@MathieuGuindon i'm curious - did you run restsharp requests out of a SSIS script task?

1:35 AM
Hm, no... using RestEase though, but a console app running on a schedule is simpler to maintain, no?

OK, was just curious. You might be correct about just running a console.

2:22 AM
@this IDK, you're right SSIS sounds like the right tool for the job here, ...except I've grown increasingly hesitant to use SSIS, for several reasons.
Likely I just suck at SSIS
but I find it slow and painful to maintain

I 100% agree with you RE: SSIS project being a PITA in general.
the only reason I even consider it is just because it's easier to integrate with SQL Server jobs and abstract out the tedious parts of programming the data flow manually
the scenario here is to call some stupid web API that has some throttling (yay exception handling!) and updating the database with the results.

2:50 AM
aye, that's exactly the scenario. really the main thing holding me back is the embedded VSTA
it's just too much trouble for the value it brings

[rubberduck-vba/Rubberduck] MDoerner pushed 11 commits to next (only showing some of them below)
Fixes #4913

Removes BlockNode demarcation from analysis allowing localVariables to
represent ProcedureScope regardless of where they are declared.
Remove false-positive result where an assignment is made using a
preceding assignment.
Modify tests to avoid false-positive test result(s)

Added tests for #4913.
Modified tests to verify flagged results contain expected references and
do not contain unexpected references. Checking result 'counts' can
allow failing tests to pass.
[rubberduck-vba/Rubberduck] BZngr pushed commit dc812cf2 to next: Merge branch '5456_AssignNotUsed_Jumps' into UnusedAssignment_FalsePositives

Introduces AssignExpressionNode and rewrites evaluation of declarations
and references. Closes #4913. Added handling of Static variables.
[rubberduck-vba/Rubberduck] BZngr pushed commit adb2693c to next: Merge branch 'rubberduck-vba/next' into UnusedAssignment_FalsePositives

Wow... I have a process that runs at 01:00 each day to download some data from a vendor via their API & send it to another vendor. On Monday it took 25 seconds to execute on my machine at the office.
It seems that at some point between Mon evening when I logged out and this morning when I logged in (I was off yesterday), my office machine was turned off, so the automated process didn't run Tues morning or this AM.
So, I kicked it off by hand this morning from my work laptop, at home, connected via the VPN - all processing here instead of directly on the office network.
it took 23 MINUTES to run!
Oh, sure, there's more network traffic at 8am than there is at 1am, but that's ridiculous!!!

Our VPN sucks...
