I just got a notification that I have been awarded a bunch of "Announcer" badges. I'm pretty sure I didn't just have 25 people hit all of these shared links, if I even shared them at all. Below is a screenshot of my inbox. Note the scroll bar depth and the number of sites. These are all from today—

Ah. I use FF password manager for some sites.

I'm slowly moving sites to that.

I wish sites would implement a passwordless login.

Where it would basically be the "reset password" system, except they email you a one-time signin link.

That basically trust that your email wasn't hijacked

That's all that's required anyway.

All it takes to reset a password is access to the email.

This way, it would actually be slightly easier to recover an account after it was compromised.

It could be combined with 2FA, so you get a text on your phone too.

@FreeMan how has your experience been with using RD to export for Git source control? My own test leave me confident I can do what I need and now resolve any merge conflicts should they occur.

I... haven't.

I'm using OASIS-SVN from Access, and prior to that, I was using my home-baked import/export for both Access & Excel.

It was only in the last week or two that I realized that the import/export options were still in RD. I thought they'd gone when the git integration was removed.

I misread it as all of SC was removed.

That said, I've been using my own routines to import/export and using the command line git and haven't had any significant issues that really weren't of my own making (from ignorance of git).

Why then do I keep thinking you’re using git for SC?

I'm just not using RD's import/export tools - I'm using my home baked ones (from Excel) that prolly are about 10% as good as what's in the duck

OASIS is import/export for Access and has support for the TortoiseGit client built in, but still uses git as the SC

The idea is that if you intercept the hotkey or the command that opens the dialog, you can then provide a better dialog and also generate the annotation.

long ago, I saw someone write a small script to export & import VBIDE settings so that it was easy to reload your customization on another computer so you wouldn't have to deal with the crapatastic UX that is VBIDE's editor properties dialog.

Interesting I think is that <> does a case sensitive comparison for strings. I looked at the language specification

AFAIK, Access is the only exception -- Option Compare Database means it follows the current database's collating order.

if you need to override this, you should use StrComp function which allows you to specify the collating order. That part seems to be undocumented, though but it works.

the &H10407 is the locale identifier for german locale. But I can't find the page that lists all locale ids. This comes closes but is missing the 0x10407

Code names only work if the sheet you're trying to access exists in ThisWorkbook (the Excel document that's hosting your VBA project). Is the sheet you're trying to get in ThisWorkbook? I note that all identifiers are 4 hexadecimals, though. Yet, &H0407& doesn't work, so the high 1 is significant but not sure what it means.

Yes. The sheet is in ThisWorkbook. It's the only Excel document that is open during the macro. The macro is run after the workbook is open and the user runs the macro. — grace1997 11 secs ago

I have that stupid problem with my Adobe suite I bought back when I still was a student.

once I locked my XBox out of my Microsoft account by using an actually secure password set from a browser. XBox 360 uses the same account password, but can't type spaces, and caps at 11 chars IIRC. I think they ended up fixing it on XBox One

The installer validates that the password for my AdobeId account is at most 12 characters long although it just asks a web service whether it is valid.

Naturally, thre no longer is a restriction on the length for the actual account.

So, whenever I have to reinstall, I go twice through the password reset routine.

Once for not remembering that I had to truncate my secure password; then again because the new password is too long.
