i wish someone would champion the cause of the people who are stuck not being able to get a job without getting their disability checks being garnished
as a veteran, i can just get disability for the thing that i have a problem with, and still work
so my migraines are causing me significant issues
i can still work as a programmer, its cool
my dad has fused vertebrae from laying carpet for 20+ years
he got on disability, and then lost his house because he couldnt pay the mortgage, it was just over half paid off, like 50-60k
he couldnt sell the house and get that money, because if he did, he wouldnt get any disability for however long it would take to get that much money from disability
and now, he cant really get a job. if he got a job, the money he made from it would be removed from the disability money, so whats the point.
