has anyone seen the new LAMBDA helper functions yet. And how LAMBDAS can be passed as function arguments?

=LET(times_table_generator,LAMBDA(base, LAMBDA(elems,SEQUENCE(elems)*base)), times_table_generator(6)(12))

that formula for example defines a lambda function which returns a function that generates a times table array. Hence times_table_generator(6)(12) - the 6 times table with 12 elements.

IIUC, a lambda is an inline, unnamed function. But now you can have a lambda (unnamed, inline function) that returns a function? Is that a named function that can then be called elsewhere?

I think these new functions entirely negate the use of VBA for udfs, except side effecting ones and ones which require static memory or referencing libraries.

No the secondary function isn't named, and a cell can't store an anonymous function. You have to use them straight away or save the top level first order function in the name manager

You see the second order function is immediately consumed in my example, although you can temporarily name it using the LET function which is quite neat I think

Oh, this is in Excel. Gotcha. I was thinking in C# (that's the only place I'd heard of lambda functions...)
