Q: Is it possible to make this macro faster? Copy and paste when condition is met

TimonekI have a problem with macro running too slow and I guess it is just because of lack of my knowledge. I have a macro that is copying data from "database" and paste it to another sheet. Macro is taking the names from the list in Sheet1 and looks for matches in Sheet2. When the match is found is cop...

Q: Is there a better way to search for and copy a range of data? VBA

Bob the BuilderI have the following code that works as intended, but I'm wondering if there's a better way to write it. Basically, this code searches for the word "Disbursements" and copies all of the rows with data below it, including the row with the specified word. After the rows are copied to a new sheet, t...

I think the push to automate office via js is a very bad idea, and I think it will never really take off until an ide for js/ts is will be integrated into office.
Js is has even more gotchas than vba, which is a feat.

So many things in js are just plain counter intuitive. In other words, it is riddled with foot guns.
I understand that they want it to make it run on the web to allow automation of office online, but, unfortunatly, the predominant language for that is the one a newbie programmer (or just one new to the language) can intuitively make the most mistakes.
If the idea is that professional programmers will do the automation, this is a huge misconception on how most vba is written.
Ts will not really help with the language issues, the same as transpiling python will not help. If the end-result is js, you still get the strange quirks of js.
Well, if the transpiler for python really was perfect transpiler, things would be better, but working around all those quirks to get the exac same behaviour as in Python will probably be an insane effort.
I would not mind if they replaced vba with python. That would remove some of my biggest pain points with VBA. That there is no type system, except the optional type hints you can use to let an external program check your code, is not really a huge downside. The VBA compiler does not check type compatibility for objects anyway.

Excel formatting question: I have a column containing aannnnnnn and I need it to be aannnnnnn0000 (don't ask why, I'm not sure, asking for a coworker).
I would think that a format of 0000000000000 in the cell formatting would work, but it doesn't.
Suggestions?
format: #########0000 doesn't work, either.
And I'm not coming up with the right search terms...
Got it: @"0000"
thanks, ducks!
