@MathieuGuindon You know, you could always introduce your boss to RD...
Also, HTH does one get CC of 42 without intentionally trying? That must have been... twisted.
OK, do I bid on a somewhat overpriced laptop, just because it's the top of its series? Advantages over my current rig: maybe 40% more CPU speed (same cores / threads), able to take 32GB RAM and an NVMe drive rather than SATA.
OTOH, my current laptop can take an eGPU, which could be kinda fun :-)

@mansellan why are you bidding on old ThinkPads? Are you trying to find a Coreboot compatible system? (That used to be the reason they were desired)
If you want a modern Coreboot PC you should look at: system76.com/laptops
Those are going to be much faster, and more expensive.

@HackSlash "and more expensive" maybe that's why he's looking at an old one?

Wow, lots of silverware today...

5:16 PM
Silverware? Like spoons?

Forks lol

Yes, like spoons...
Who invited this guy? Time to cut him off...

Cut me off? I've only had one drink! %^D

@FreeMan LOL! That one might stick haha
I think our starcount might start saying 1.2K in 25 stars (we're at 1,125)

@MathieuGuindon I does whats I can

Evidently, insignificant digits don't matter. :p

@FreeMan quite so... ThinkPads (especially the T ans X series) are pretty bulletproof business laptops. My X230 (circa 2012) has been upgraded with 16GB of RAM and a couple of SSDs, and does fine even with 3 instances of Visual Studio and ReSharper running. The current X is perhaps 50% faster in CPU, but would cost close to £2000 from Lenovo
X230 and X270 are particular gems in the series, some of the other iterations have upgradability issues.
the X240 being a particular low spot (they decided to remove the dedicated TrackPoint buttons...)
