I've been working on a comment I want to post to all the erroneous posts, if they still persist after the strike.
This answer is evidently wrong, with no actual foundation in reality. The IEEE 802.11 Standard (on Wireless LAN, 2016 edition) clearly states on page 662 that the minimum frame size (MTU) for WiFi is 2304 – so the arbitrary number 1492 presented here is beyond any logical explanation.
This is not an answer to the question, and should be at best be considered misinformation and very bad advice! Please read this post for a thorough explanation of MTU values. This answer is hereby flagged for deletion.
