I'm learning about Linux syscalls, but that doesn't seem to solve my wonders.
Looks like I need to learn theories of operating systems in general.

I wonder: How can Linux, or operating systems in general, control devices?
The bootcamp taught how to add syscalls, but they're still written in C.
And the specifications of C programming language just doesn't care about devices.
There's /dev, but my tutor said we don't open/close them with fopen/fclose.

Many device files can be opened with fopen, but if you're looking at the lower level than that then a useful term to look into may be "interrupt"
It's probably easiest to start with computers from 30+ years ago where things were a bit simpler too
