It's not entirely clear to me whether the bit about not wanting an answer posted here is to be taken literally or whether it's intended to be part of the puzzle somehow.

I'm not convinced it's a real puzzle at all. To me it reads like "I need to answer this prompt for a crypto wallet I'm racing others to open" . Otherwise it's merely a reference to a Death Note quote and isn't a puzzle in any true sense, just a cultural reference phrased as a very strange trivia question.
