Q: simple rebus, thank you all..!

Amruth A simple rebus, thank you all..!!

2:18 AM
@Sphinx that was simple

4 hours later…
6:01 AM
@AncientSwordRage One of my university friends had that on a T-shirt.

its kinda funny how my friend in high school was raging about me cheating in a block game...

8:03 AM
ha, my lowest-rated puzzle finally got an upvote after over three years
i always knew it was a masterpiece, now it's been confirmed

lol

10:25 AM
CCCC hint: The first letter is 'P'.

11:17 AM
@LukasRotter I had to look it up, and I feel like it's one of those dumb trick sequences
@Randal'Thor "That was simple" ? ;-p
My t-shirt at uni said "So this is what going mad feels like" and a friend had "I aim to misbehave"
My wife had "Not all who wander are lost", which is still apt to this day
I may have also had one that said "I am making sense, you just aren't keeping up!"
but enough about my apparel

I keep thinking the C4 is PATRICK but I have no idea why trick would be peek

11:42 AM
@AncientSwordRage No, that was Staples :-P

@Randal'Thor Simples
@Ankoganit maybe it's trick from a 'trick' taking game?

@Jafe Which one?
Someone is on an upvoting spree probably
Says the guy who upvoted 30 different puzzles in a row once

@Ankoganit To put your mind at rest, it isn't PATRICK...
But I like your thinking

even if trick meant "take a peek", wouldn't it have to be tricks with an s to fit the clue

Q: Two pairs of dice with the same probability

ThomasLAlice has two dice each numbered from 1 to 6. Bob has two dice as well, the numbering is not known, but each face has a positive integer. The numbering on each dice can be different and a number can appear more than once on a dice. Alice rolls her two dice and the probability for each of the numb...

TIL: Keek is a word

@Anonymus25 "it's a serious game when six-packs are at stake"

@Jafe not sure...

or could it have been "X takes Y" for "X next to Y"
i've definitely seen that kind of construction used, although it feels wrong to me

I think this particular CCCC is the kind of clue that in a real cryptic crossword knowing the checked squares would be a real help. I can see I've not really given everyone a lot to go on...

12:13 PM
@Stiv it doesn't feel too unfair though, I'm not looking/asking for more hints yet

12:45 PM
@Stiv oh well, back to the drawing board
@Jafe yeah, that's what I was thinking of
@Stiv could it be P(A LOOK)A=Charlie (a stupid person)?

For a while I was thinking "X takes Y" might mean "X takes away Y"

@Ankoganit That's it! Well done :)

Ah, nice clue :)
CCCC: House to help patients suffering from nothing in House's first season (7)

@Ankoganit HOSPICE = H(-ouse) + O (nothing) + SPICE (season) = House to help patients suffering

1:02 PM
@Stiv correct!

I liked that one :)

thanks :D

nice clue, i really like the surface

:)

watching the world chess championship game that just started, really interesting game right off the bat

1:07 PM
I feel like I just got an achievement: A [grid-deduction] puzzle on the CTC Discord server that is not so trivial, fun, and best of all, unique!
Noice

CCCC: Writer King goes by alias when touring France (5)

K+A(F)KA

@Jafe Totally

CCCC: Charlie's home, regularly staying up (6)

1:20 PM
that's right
i was thinking about charlie = vietcong, though

ahh ok
I'll think of somethign after a coffee hopefully

4 hours later…
5:27 PM
CCCC: Charles (Ricky Wilson) heading tour of album's debut pop crowd-pleaser, at Louisiana grill perhaps? ( 7 )
I can only apologise in advance

5:43 PM
I may or may not have added an extra 'perhaps', despite being told how they work last time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Q: consecutive integers with a number whose digit sum is divisible by 19

ThomasLHow many consecutive positive integers are at least required, such that there is always a number in this sequence, whose sum of the digits is divisible by 19?

2 hours later…
11:02 PM
I feel like I may have killed the chain
